I don't believe that they would sack him for losing to City, just after the transfer window closed.

I mean, you're not wrong we all think we know more about football than the people paid to make the actual decisions. You're bang on. We may have had conversations with Alonso and rightly he's maybe said not till next year. Literally no idea.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostThe suits were ridiculed in 2015 for letting Rodgers remain for another season. When really, they’d made their decision on him, they were just waiting for Klopp to be ready to end his sabbatical.
The reality is, fans think they’re smarter than the suits. But the decision makers are always working with far more insight and information than we ever have.
We shouldn’t assume that decisions aren’t being made just because they’re not happening on the (some) fans timeframe.
For what it's worth, I don't think Hughes will be at Liverpool after the summer.
While Carrick has been a good interim (so far) I don't think there's an obvious choice for us.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI don't believe that they would sack him for losing to City, just after the transfer window closed.

We have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes and what the plans are. They aren’t going to say anything but he has the support in the press because you’re not helping anyone creating more uncertainty.
They need the team to be successful on the pitch to keep their jobs as well.

We do know that Slot's contract ends next year. Absolute radio silence on that being extended.Originally posted by peterbread View Post

Also we were leaky as **** last year - into the summer, that had been somewhat plugged this season, read into that what you will.

Maybe not - but why keep him on - whats the case for it ? What positive qualities is Slot bringing to this talented group ?Originally posted by kingfunk View PostI actually don’t think they will sack Slot, even if we miss out on CL.
I just don't see any underlying trend from him pointing to improvements in results and performances.
Being staunch and sticking to your guns is fine as long as it's working .. but right now we cant even win matches when we need a run of wins.

It's ridiculous tbh. He should've been binned as soon as Alonso was available.Originally posted by danperkins View PostJust sack him ffs, talk about prolonging the inevitable."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Let's say we just stumble along, go out of the cup and champions league in 2 rounds time, and somehow end up finishing 4th or 5th and getting into the champions league for next year.
The issue is that Slot only has one year left on his contract. Although liverpool fc have been happy enough in the past to leave players go into their last season, it will surely be harder to do that with the head coach.

I don't think he goes in the summer.
He is continuing to make mistakes, all already listed by everyone, but...there are a lot of mitigating factors... despite the huge outlay, the team (and squad) is worse than last year.
Only when we address that (at least 1 wide forward, at least 1 CB, 1 RB) can he be fairly judged IMO.
For that reason I think he gets start of next season.
