He's the worst man manager ever.

His treatment of chiesa, endo, robbo to an extent and the young players is really poor. You have a squad because at some point you'll need to utilise it. You want those players on the fringes to feel involved and ready to run through a brick wall if required. I'm surprised some of the players even bother to get changed. Players aren't robots, you need to make them feel loved especially in this day and age when kids are so emotionally challenged. An arrogant dutch man and his similarly minded backroom staff isn't going to work long term. Players see through it. Mind you Hughes comes across as a smug **** too, I still don't see where his reputation has come from.

I have said before I'm not sure he wants to stay here, his family aren't here which will be unsettling and less than ideal, if the job is going well it makes things easier, but when it isn't it makes a difficult situation even harder. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves this summer whatever happens.

There is a element of controlling the narrative from his point of view, if we make CL and he leaves it may look like it is on his terms regardless of the truth, if we don't it looks like he has been forced out whatever the press wording used is. But there is no way we are making the top 5 unless something big happens.

I've done this and tbh, not having family while working away was easier.

It means you can work stupid hours and weekends without the pressure of keeping the family happy.

When you do see them, you can create quality time, but having the family in a foreign country ended up being more stressful for me than when they had returned home.

If Chelsea and United win tonight (although I reckon West ham could get a draw you know) tand we then lose to Sunderland, then it could snowball for Arne. Although I'm not sure i see an alternative that would be guaranteed to make an impact right away.

Alonso would be the obvious choice but he would obviously prefer to start in the summer with a clean page. That said, he'd probably take the job alright though and maybe he could oversee an upturn. He strikes me as the type of guy that would want to to restart with totally new tactics etc though??

If Jurgen would agree to a temporary gig to help out until the end of the season then that would be a ****in no brainer at this stage of the season in my view. He might even get the bug again and do another 2.year stint ffs

The Alonso talk came out at the start but there has been talk from Romano, I know he’s a bit annoying, saying he’s happy to get back into straight away with the right club. Romano has contacts with agents rather than clubs so he may well have the word that Alonso doesn’t mind getting started now.

The plus side is with an international tournament he has the rest of the season to start implementing his style rather than a disrupted preseason.

While Slot had a disrupted preseason he was smart and didn’t change much and had a completely settled squad. The more time a new guy has the better.

I’d rather have an interim solution now. The damage continuing with Slot for another 3 months could do for our chances of CL qualification, not to mention squad morale, mean we need a change sooner rather than later imo.

Yeah I think so too. He’s down to 1 year on his contract in the summer and that doesn’t work at all - no talk of renewing. He’s done. Just depends on when.
