what's that going to do to our chances of signing good players in the summer??? if SLot is staying.....but facing an uncertain futureOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostEven if they decide they want to keep him for next season, it would he rather irresponsible after this season to offer him a new contact before Christmas at the earliest and that would require a big up turn in form between now and then, if he stays and we are to offer a new contract it's not before this time next year when we are doing well and are in a title race, but there is alot to happen before then.
Given his personal circumstances living apart from his family I am not sure that he necessarily wants to stay beyond his current contract unless his family move over. I could see a parting of ways as an option this year or next whatever happens.

The next three games will be massive. Two very difficult away games to Sunderland and Forest and a cup game at home to Brighton. The cup gives the team another path to Europe but I don’t think his future should be decided by winning an FA cup with how the league is going.
They really need to win at least one of those league games and a point in the other, no more loses. Two more loses would be a disaster. We are already relying on teams ahead of us to drop points plus we have to play both of them. The run to finish the season is a tough one.
Last six games include an away derby, away to the mancs, away to villa and a home game against Chelsea. And finishing off with a home game against Brentford who could be paying for European football.

Sunderland are a different prospect at.home and without our best player, after a tough game v City, this will be a very hard game. The extra day off that Sunderland have had could make a big difference at this stage of the season.
However, a win will be a confidence booster. It is a chance to see what our players are made.of

Alonso asap for me please.Originally posted by Pablo View PostIs Alonso available right now? If so we'd be daft to not look into that at this stage, it's crucial we make it into the Champions League next year and that looks increasingly unlikely if Slot stays I'm afraid.
Still crazy that we waltzed the league last year then ended up like this.
tbf Klopp's team won the league for him before we started playing his slow, boring crab football.
He has been unlucky with injuries, which is odd given the general lack of intensity in our style of play this season.
Jota is still a factor, but the club should have been all over grief counselling if it is still affecting their performance to the extent that our form has dropped off a cliff. If the 20th-minute tribute is affecting players, tell the fans and ask them to stop it for a few games to see if things improve.
He has kids he could blood, but instead is running the same 14 players into the ground. They are just bench warmers, they know they aren't getting a game even, if they are selected as a sub.We are here for a good time not a long time....

Liverpool fans aren't going to stop cheering Diogo on the 20th minute. If the club asked the fans to stop for a few games, then I suspect that it would be even louder. And I'd agree with that approach too to be honest.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostAlonso asap for me please.

A lot of other points I agree with but looking at the man city game,.I think we were very unlucky yesterday. In my opinion, Guehi should have been sent off, the peno was harsh and Szoboslai playing silva onside wasn't on Slot.
I think Salah is spent. But he is better than Chiesa to start. I think Gakpo is wasteful and sometimes has poor decision making. But I think he is a better option than Chiesa. Jones is a good squad player but I don't think he is better than Mac, Grav or Wirtz. I'd have liked to see Ngumoha given 15.mins yesterday but I don't blame Slot for the defeat.
We will see over the next 3 games if the players are with him imo.

Aren't they alwaysOriginally posted by Buzzo View PostThe rumour from the above was that Arne is going to be a ‘by mutual consent’ exit.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I was thinking about this last night. Would Slot accept going into next season without a new contract. If the club said you’ll get a new deal if you hit these targets next season, or at a certain point during next season, would he be willing to accept that.
I don’t know if you would want that uncertainty as the coach. And how does that help signing new players.

I have said before I'm not sure he wants to stay here, his family aren't here which will be unsettling and less than ideal, if the job is going well it makes things easier, but when it isn't it makes a difficult situation even harder. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves this summer whatever happens.Originally posted by peterbread View PostI was thinking about this last night. There is a element of controlling the narrative from his point of view, if we make CL and he leaves it may look like it is on his terms regardless of the truth, if we don't it looks like he has been forced out whatever the press wording used is. But there is no way we are making the top 5 unless something big happens. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
