Wait till you see the knock-off lego sets on alliexpress that are the same thing but 5th of the price. Some people only want to buy official. Others dont care. And others have zero choice if they want a set thats sold out.

I have said before that I think Alonsos availability, and the fact that Arne has one year remaining on his contract, will mean that I think he is toast. They can't give him another deal, and it will be difficult to convince top targets if there is uncertainty over the manager. If we didnt need.to buy new.players then I could have understood keeping him. Maybe.

For me, the only way he remains is if the club do not have any interest in Alonso as the manager.

I'm not a lego person though. But will tell Michelle about them (though she seems to love the official kits and getting the led lighting sets that fit them) and am sure IrishNerd on here already knows about them.


Though just unexpectadly got two Funko Pops in the mail about a half hour ago.

One from each of my goddaughters. Sunday was the one year anniversary of the death of my cat so they sent me a Godfather Funko (Vito Corleone with his cat) and a Godzilla Minus One Funko.

Between the two of them I have somehow ended up owning a little Funko Pop collection as they have on a regular basis got me Funkos based on characters that they say I share personality traits with (not always flattering either ) or ones that just remind them of their relationships with me.

Myself I have ended up buying a number of Iron Maiden Funkos as figured if I am going to end up with loads of these things I may as well get to pick some of what I end up with

Assuming Alonso is who the club wants and that Liverpool is where Alonso wants to go.

There were two rumours floating about regarding Alonso, one is that he could not join another club until this summer as part of his settlement with Real Madrid. If he did join one before the summer then he would not get the same pay out.

The second one was his agent is meant to have said that Alonso wants to wait and see what other clubs have vacancies in the summer and that he has an interest in the Man City job as well as the one with us.

Or a bullet dodged if indeed he had them in mind as where he eventually wanted to go.


Mind you probably is just an agent fuelled rumour, maybe to get a bigger pay day elsewhere.


Though if we are looking at other managers, who is to say Alonso is who we want? We might want Iraola, Inzaghi or Dyche.

Is actually quite difficult to guess who might be targetted as there are no close to top tier managers that look to be potentially available and a few that will also be tied up what with managing at the World cup.

Think what we need to be expecting is that the next manager is going to be a punt rather than someone that looks a nailed on perfect fit. Might also need to be ready for the fact that any new guy might not win us the title in his first season, second season and so on.

Slot's first season was proper lightning in a bottle stuff, the sort of thing few first season managers do at the top level, outside of those at the money doping clubs that is.

What is also something to consider is what if we get rid of Slot and the same senior players that are underperforming this season do the same next season under the new guy. Could well be that our issues run a lot deeper than a coach or manager.

That's not to say changes and new additions are not needed, but we might get a rude awakening if we persist with too many of the current underperformers once/if Slot departs.

You might well be right here, but 1) we still have to try changing the manager first before a shedload of players and 2) many of these players are from Klopps last few years and title winners, so surely (hopefully?) this mentality change this season is a one-off, either some sort of reflection of the manager's approach or due to unusual circumstances

There appear to be multiple problems with the squad this season, firstly the squad wasn't right coming into the season, Slot doesn't have control over that but he does have a say.

We also have fitness issues for much of the season the players just haven't looked fit players being knackered after 60-70mins, despite the slower style of football that is on the manager and coaching staff. The style of football is another thing, that is set by the manager but impacted by the players available, so you can have some sympathy on that. Tactics and preparation we go into games looking completely unprepared, at the weekend we looked surprised at how Man Utd played, that's how they always play, there were no surprises there, what the **** were the preparations for that game, we had a whole week what did we do? Last season Slot's strength was that even if we didn't play great in the first half he could see how we were playing and how the opposition were playing, and make substitutions and tweaks that allowed us to win the game, that doesn't happen anymore. Standards- there have been hints from interviews etc that senior players worry about standards slipping - that is on the manager and the leadership group. Confidence and belief - Under Klopp we were a team that were mentally strong and never knew when we were beaten, this side is the opposite, mentally weak, something goes against us and that's it the game is lost. Almost all of this is on the manager, I can see how Slot could maybe bring in some new players and maybe change some of those things, but changing all of them, I just don't see how that happens without a new man in charge.

No way does Alonso go to Chelsea, the club is a complete disaster and he doesn’t come across as the mercenary type. Why are people even paying attention to these stories?
