I’ve read a few places that Xabi wants more control than head coach and we don’t want to go that route. I’m just surprised he’s going to Chelsea, they are a basket case but maybe he can sort them out.

I think Slot will go now, hatchet piece by Joyce and it seems the players are against him by all liking what Mo said. Not sure who though - Iraola and Hoeness are the heavy metal option as said by Mo whereas Alonso is like Pep G. I like Iraola but he’s never managed a side that plays twice a week and with such intensity

Yep, though Hoeness does have experience in managing a European and Domestic schedule.

Alonso always seemed more of an emotional want rather than the local appointment. I was never sure if he was the right fit but rather that old player coming back to fix what Slot has broken that we all knew and loved.

You need to take the risk in football and not try and over control everything and also be flexible. It feels like so many young managers think this is my philosophy and this is the only way to play and have an obsession with possession. I don’t want any of that. I’ll take the bad with the good if I see the players all in, committed and aggressive, the team going for it and trying to win every game. None of this small club we don’t lose first crap we have now.

Hoeness has always been my first choice. Something about him just fits. Salt of the earth type of man.

Loads going against Slot. The fact that he has a year left on his contract means he is a sitting duck - even if we won a few more games and finished 3rd. The fact that we need 3.or 4 more players, and the fact that he hasnt got anything out of the new players from last year, means he has to be gone.

I wanted alonso. I thought that the Wirtz connection would have swung it. **** sake.

Brighton always play good football and entertaining football too and Fabian Huerzlers side are no different. Him or Glasner would also be interesting considerations.

It’s a shame about Alonso because asides from the club connection it might have been very good for Wirtz and Frimpong and obviously the team has to be built around the former, will be odd to see him at Chelsea

Apparently Luis Enrique is the favourite to be the next manager, I would love that to happen, but I just can't see it.
