I also think it sends a massive message out to the team too.
Slot doesn;t **** about. Reckon he got a right bollocking after the game. Probably got sent straight to his room._____________________________________

We must have been watching the games in different universes.Originally posted by peterbread View PostGreat second half and I’m sure once the late arrivals get their match fitness up and settle into the new system that will be the norm.
Plenty of goals in this team with the way they’ll play. Exciting season ahead.
Great to see Trent playing well and he looked more solid defensively as a proper RB. The team looked more balanced without the inverted system and Konate didn’t have to do so much extra work which I’m sure he’ll appreciate. Gravenberch looking good again and it will be great to see MacAlister running things once his fully fit and settled.
Trent did play “inverted” if by which you mean him playing in midfield for parts of the game.
I agree he played well though, as did Gravenberch, Jota and Salah.
The nice thing about Gravenberch playing 6 is that he’s very good at playing forward and always tries to do so where possible.
Szobo put in a really good shift, did the dirty work like getting back to cover on the break a couple of times.Last edited by Corndog; 18-08-24, 06:01 AM.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

I think Slot will continue with the team that started the 2nd half yesterday going into the next 2 games - home to Brentford and away to Man United.
That then leads into the first international break (****in hate the one in September)
Be good to see Jones and Elliott get some game time from the bench too

Finally got round to watching the full game - didn’t think we were as bad in the first half as some had made out. It was a scrappy affair but you couldn’t fault Ipswich for effort and they did a really good job of disrupting our rhythm with their pressing and constant fouling. Thought our effort was also pretty good, we just lacked quality/composure on the ball. It seemed we played too many long balls which were contested and came to nothing (Quansah was guilty of this a few times).
I also don’t think we were as good in the second half as was being made out. Saw a couple of people saying that’s as good a half as they’ve seen us play? I can only conclude that people have very short memories
. Ipswich definitely ran out of steam which played a big part. Konate also used the ball better with some more incisive passes out of defence - Jota’s goal was a good example, started with a ball from Konate to Grav.

I’d love to blame autocorrect but that’d be pushing it
