Supposedly did well on loan at Blackburn, but if he is going to another Championship club it doesn't really show any progress, particularly as Wrexham would likely be seen as a step down, but I see he was born in Wrexham so maybe he wants to play for his hometown club. The fact that it is another Championship loan though suggests he won't make it here.

he club will be open to offers for Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams, Calvin Ramsay, Kaide Gordon, Luca Stephenson, Isaac Mabaya and Oakley Cannonier, among others, with doubts over the likes of Luke Chambers and Lewis Koumas
A couple of players there. that sadly had potential but look like not making the grad._____________________________________

What’s a successful academy to most people?
Making good money like we are currently from players but having one or two break through every season or two and become first choice players or good squad players?
It’s obviously very hard to get players to the level they need to be for the first team at a young age or getting them the experience to get there from loans or limited time in the first team. There is a lot of luck with injuries to more experienced players but the level they need to be at has gone up at the club.
It’s a tough position. Hopefully this more recent recruitment of trying to pick the top players from around the country pays off. Rio and Nyoni look very promising but we’ve seen this from exciting youth players countless times so time will tell.
I think it’s definitely improving if you look at the sales and the amount of money and the teams they go to but the next step would be to produce the likes of Trent and Jones more often and then the players you bring in at that 15-17 age range be top level as well and make the breakthrough like Bradley and Kelleher.

You can probably count the number of Academy players that become 1st choice on 2 hands this Century.
Trent was the last one and he debuted 2017.
Connor, Curtis and Quansah are squad players so far.
I Presume we will be all about the sales to alleviate PSR. As everone else seems to be._____________________________________

I think at our level you would hope to create some superstars but those are few and far between.Originally posted by peterbread View PostWhat’s a successful academy to most people?

For me it's about saving the club money by creating squad players so money only needs to be spent on top players, but also making a decent amount of money by selling players who will have solid careers but aren't LFC standard. For me we have been good at that. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah he’s 22 now & should be at the top of his game. Re-signing him & giving him 1 more season makes sense to me though.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostSupposedly did well on loan at Blackburn, but if he is going to another Championship club it doesn't really show any progress, particularly as Wrexham would likely be seen as a step down, but I see he was born in Wrexham so maybe he wants to play for his hometown club. He comes back at age 23 with no PL experience, I just don't see him making it here, a good loan move boosts his value and probably gets us a better transfer fee but I don't think it changes his future with us.Originally posted by SB View PostYeah he’s 22 now & should be at the top of his game. Or do another Brad Smith, play Beck for a couple of games, then rinse some lower PL team for him.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostHe comes back at age 23 with no PL experience, I just don't see him making it here, a good loan move boosts his value and probably gets us a better transfer fee but I don't think it changes his future with us.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
