There was no leadership, nobody to grab the game by the scruff, no creativity in midfield, if jones didn’t pull up yesterday morning things might have been different. Goes to show how influential the spine of the first team is. Was really disappointed with chiesa’s attitude in the first half, moaning about poor passes whilst being more occupied trying to look busy himself, fancies himself as a bit of a foreman. The experience we had on the pitch played like they felt the game was beneath them. Quite disappointing all round, some of them will be playing for their future from here on in imo.

Totally agree 100 percent with this my sentiments exactly...on the basis of our perceived 'superior squad' sense on paper (both technical and at a mental level), we deserved to lose this based upon the type of play we did today...

Even Kweev was a bit of a let down for the pen - he's normally so good at going the right way.

A midfielder at CB, winger in the middle and a fringe player alongside him. Absolutely no ambition from Slot and I'm very happy about that.

I bet Mark79 has a sore head today
Hopefully our starting X1 take it out on the Ev on Wednesday
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Argyle played well though and defended really good, you have to give them some credit as well to be fair. They've probably defended better than most of the PL teams we've faced this season.

You could see how much more it meant to them, they celebrated every clearance and save like they’d just scored a goal. We just didn’t get anywhere near to matching them in that respect.

All we really needed was 1 good midfielder. But the whole middle was beyond useless when it came to link play or even trying to score. They were cautious, untidy, and lacked intelligence. I still dont see what nyoni and mcconnel bring.

I don't think any of the players who played could really complain that they aren't playing more regularly off the back of that performance.

I have more sympathy for the kids that played because if the senior pros aren't playing well it makes it even more difficult for the kids to shine, sad thing for them is that it limits their opportunites for the rest of the season, if we had gone through they would probably have had another chance for more games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Harsh on youngsters but I can't disagree. If Bajetic and Morton (far higher ceilings at the time) aren't/weren't able to make it then these two certainly will not either.

Also, I just read that 1983/84 was the last time we got knocked out by a 2nd division team in the FA Cup 4th round. We went and won the league, CL and League Cup that season

Kell Soopree. I'm glad we're out now for sure.
