Exactly. Slot didn't even risk Jones who was on the bench. It was almost as though he didn't want to manage any more games than absolutely necessary and maybe slyly punched the air at the full time whistle. I'm totally fine with that. We have 5 league games on the trot remaining, in February!!! Full focus required.

Edit: 1st March would have been the 5th round for us. So a nice weekend off after our hardest run of PL fixtures of the season.

I think this is the problem with going with too many kids, Elliott isn't experienced enough to be the senior guy in there IMO.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Elliots played in over 120 games for Liverpool

He might be only 21 but he's most definitely a 'senior guy'

Im a bit mixed, on one hand always hate to lose and go out the cup but in the overall context of the season it could be a blessing.

Players played like they had other things on their minds. While not an excuse Gomez coming off early messed things up with the bench options. Slot took a risk with the squad but most of us would have been happy to see the players left out and rested so I don’t think there is too much to complain about there. Disappointing from those senior players though. No criticism of the younger ones as they didn’t really have the support.

But well done Plymouth and good for the FA Cup.

On to Wednesday and the biggest game of the season to set the rest of the season up hopefully with a nice win!

All eyes on the draw. I bet Plymouth get Utd or City.

A poor performance from the team but better to be out and not lose focus in the league.

Hopefully the villa vs spuds game will offer a bit more enjoyment.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I get why he did it, but that team was devoid of leaders - Even the bench was weak
I make no apologies, this is me

Gomez going off so early was obviously an issue but between Kweeve, Timmy, Elliot, Diaz, Chiesa and Nunez there should have been enough experience and leadership on the pitch

I just don't think he is senior enough, he may have 120 games, but only half of them will be starts and he's never really been a regular starter, so IMO he doesn't have the experience to babysit two youngsters alongside him in midfield.

I thought the defence and GK were fine, but the midfield and forwards were very poor and the forwards are all senior players which is very disappointing. Were it not for the silly penalty the game had 0-0 written all over it.

Plymouth have 5 wins from 30 and sit 41 points from the top. Any side we put out should've done better than that.
