If Anfield has one design flaw it’s that the away support have far too good a position. They should be ****ed off to an upper rear somewhere.
The PSG support sounded and looked amazing. There was a guy on a ****ing loudhailer right behind the goal on pens and (far too much) whistling (not jeering actual whistle blowing). That must be a boon for the away teams in big games.Modifying post.

Crowd last night hardly helped. Where was the famous 12th man? I'm sure since the new stand opened it affects things. On tv you seem to hear several songs being sung at once or the same one but slightly out of order, like the whole ground isn't in sync. I guess that's what happens when large parts of the ground are taken up by middle age men and also plenty of them with money to boot, it almost feels beneath some to participate.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostApparently we’ve only won one of our last 6 European knockout games at Anfield

They should be ****ed right off into the back of the stands. Pitch side is for the home fans, especially behind the goals!

I thought the same about the whistles all game, then on the pens they were waving banners directly behind the goal too. I didn’t realise they had a loudhaler FFS!
I agree we should banish them to an upper tier, but that’s probably a design flaw with the new stand, having been in the upper tier twice, there isn’t really a neat solution for segregation. There is on the concourse but the position of the exit is right behind the comfy seats from Brodies Bar.
Maybe a block in the upper SKD stand would work? But then segregation outside the ground becomes an issue too.
I defo think we need to reduce the away allocation to the absolute minimum regardless of where they are in the ground. We are here for a good time not a long time....

The plans for the new stand had provision for away supporter in a verticle strip across both tiers. So bit like what City do.
Not sure why they haven't implement it, but the upper tier can indeed be segregated if required.Oh I don't know.

That might give them more seats, but in a worse position (if they had the upper left block as you look at it) and they would be sacrificing a section of hospitality.
