The balance of our team isn't right, to use that Shankly analogy it feels like this summer we brought in guys who can play the piano, but we don't have the guys who can carry it.

I think it’s also the physical side of things. They don’t dominate and are getting bullied. It felt like they lost every 50/50 tonight. We used to have such a strong dominant midfield that would control games and not give you a minutes rest by constantly pressing but it was the other way tonight.

Palace at home in the league cup followed by Villa at home in the league. Then Madrid at home and City away finishing off with Forest at home.

Right now I don’t know where the next win comes from. Villa have found some form and with Dyche at Forest we know that game will be tougher than it would have been. Palace will cause us problems with how they’re setup but if they rotate it might help. Madrid will be way better than last season and I hate to think what Haaland will do to this defence the form he’s in.

That’s a tough bunch of games with the current form.

I went through the Hodgson stint, and started supporting Liverpool during Souness's tenure so I know what support looks like thanks.

But this all feels a bit Marvel Avengers End Game. I thought the same after Klopp left and they pulled a surprise out the bag but it seems that we're in a transition and it's not going that well.

I expect Salah to leave soon, and VVD looks like a carthorse right now. This is their swan song and they look past it already.

I hope the season makes me look like a ****** for posting this but I don't see how Slot fixes it in time to make us a top four contender let alone a title challenger.

I always thought it was a Paisleyism - 8 lads to carry the piano and 3 to play it. Under Klopp we were blessed to have guys who could and would do both - Mane, Bobby and Salah worked like demons but were absolute killers.

I wasn’t even angry watching the game last night, I was laughing at how mad football is and how quickly things can change. In the summer we thought Slot was Paisley to Klopp’s Shankley. Wirtz, Isak, Hugo, Kerkez and more…… winning it all lads

What Slot did at the beginning of last season is he simplified things, stopped Diaz taking crazy shots, stuck with key partnerships at CB and CM and he always had Salah producing an all time season. I looked back at the scores and we won a lot of games by the odd goal.

Now it seems complicated and his tactical prowess seems gone, he used to make tweaks and now he’s going 180 degrees 3/4 times a game. The mad thing is the last 4 games we lost they were all by the odd goal as well and on other days we could’ve won those games.

Every game looks really hard now - he needs to play the kids vs Palace and if we go out so be it. This feels like a crisis now and it’s hard to see hiw it stops…… crazy when you look at the players we have

We need to get back to controlling games and having some defensive base to build from I would start Endo in midfield, yes he is a more limited player in terms of what he offers but he is a destroyer and would make us more difficult to play through. We should still have enough attacking players on the pitch to win the game, especially if we can stop conceeding so many.
