I think he has and he doesn't. It's possible that someone can find a niche use for him, but as a starter, I don't see it. He needs to go and bully some second rate players in another league.

If you just look at stats then sure he was potentially the best player in the world. If you actually watch football and can take the mo-coloured glasses off then he didn't actually play that well. He was awful in a lot of games last season, he'd just always pop up for that one moment eventually (which happens when most of the play is run through you).Originally posted by kingfunk View Post

Ive been told before on here that that's not papering over cracks, but its pretty much is the definition of it in my book. Now the goals have dried up all this other stuff becomes much more apparent for people. The cracks have opened up. But some of us have seen this coming a long time ago.

Clearly, an attacker scoring and assisting loads is a player doing his job well. However, I would say that the things that are really ****ing people off about his game were evident last season too. Particularly the running into people and losing possession instead of beating them thing.
