This was the competition that he was supposed to shine in. It's not happened. He's been up and down this season, but overall he's been largely ineffective so far. Since people won't have a word says against him though.

It’s not that tho is it. You can see the quality but he is in a misfiring team. His chances created stats are solid. Nobody is saying he’s had an outstanding season - but you can see his class, he’s 22 so he may need a season and a functioning team to show how good he is.

He only works if we have pacey wide players crossing. He isn't going to create **** all himself. Bad signing from start to finish.

Wirtz is the least of our problems. We need to play to his strengths but Slot is unable to do it.

Get a better manager in and get some guile and pace around Wirtz and he’ll come good.

Well when you don't have one, all you can ask for is the other. Got to suck up some losses as simply not having enough to get across the line. For me this is one of those.

Be very different if we had rolled over from the start, if we had played slow turgid stuff, if we looked like we were set up poorly, but none of those things were apparant tonight and raw effort was not lacking either.


We tried, but were found wanting. Feck making it a stick to beat the team with on this particular night. We have had plenty of things to be negative about this season, tonight is not one of them in the grand scheme of things.

We know we have issues, we know we have problems, but all those have to wait until trhe summer.

Sure, but the issue isn't whether he's quality, it's that he should be doing better and being more effective.
