A 0-2 deficit to overturn at home is certainly doable history shows us but it’ll take the right team selection & a buoyant home crowd to help do it. Rio must start this one IMO. We’ve played Cody & Wirtz on the left repeatedly but neither has produced the MOTM performances that Rio is capable of. Wirtz is best in his roaming role & Cody is best as a striker as he doesn’t have the pace or trickery of Rio. But Slot will stick to his favourites once again I fear.

We really didnt. I posted this on the Slot thead...Originally posted by Mark79 View PostWe put up a fight last season at Anfield. They took over in extra time, but we put up alot of sustained pressure in 90 mins.
Last year we managed 3 shots on target from 19 in the anfield game after (psg 8/21) in addition to our ****ty penalties.
Away we managed 1 on target out of 2 in the first leg v psg's 10/27 shots on target. That was 4 shots on target in 210 minutes.
Last week we managed 0/3 v 6/18.
So a grand total of 4 shots on target in 300 minutes.
PSG managed 24. Thats 6 times as many shots on target overall. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Not sure how relevant last seasons stats ware tbh, but all I take from that is that we had nearly 10 times as many shots at Anfield, as we had in Paris.
Hoping we can play much better at Anfield this time too. It’s obviously a long shot, because PSG are so good, but stranger things have happened. Anfield on a European knock out night is special, and if we score first, the crowd will go mental and at that point anything can happen.I don't tip

We really did. You can't distill a game down to just shots on target.
That's not the only thing that defines pressure. It doesn't account for shots blocked by defenders, narrow misses, hitting the post.
We had more successful passes into their final third than they did ours. We made far more crosses. Had more touches in thier box.
No idea why you're lumping the 1st leg stats in there. I'm taking about the 2nd leg, I'm not denying that we were totally dominated in the 1st leg..

Nope, couldn’t disagree more - we definitely gave them a game at Andield, don’t care what the stats say. We spurned some big chances, had 2 goals ruled out for offside and 1 off the post and one cleared off the line. Louis Enrique even admitted we were the better side after the game.Originally posted by Charly View PostWe really didnt. I posted this on the Slot thead...

If we get past PSG then it will mean the sort of comeback that could fuel a run right to the final.
Have a feeling that we might end up going to pens again against then.
Hell of an ask to beat them by two clear goals (to get that peno shoot out), but with the exception of the PSV game, we have been both pretty clinical and lucky (at the back) at Anfield in the CL this season so a two goal deficit, even against a team as good all over the pitch (but not in goal) as PSG, is not insurmountable imo .I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
