              I have a sneaking suspicion that in a year or so it will be a bit like Darren Bent in that everyone looked at him and went I'm not sure if he is worth the risk, then a season later people will see that he is a consistantly good striker but his value will be two or three times more.

              I don't think that Doyle would demand a first team place but I think he is certainly a better bet at the minute than Fowler and I'm going to guess that he would take fewer games before he began contributing than Bellamy. I also think he is more creative than Crouch (although this is partly about the way we have used Crouch whose passing ability is good but he doesn't have the mobility to go from a deep area to contributing to an attack fast enough).

              I think it is interesting that rather than attempt to answer Rosco's queries as to what the percieved weaknesses of Doyles game are people have basically gone - he's not as good as Kuyt. Which is true but not really a convincing argument for him being bought in to replace/augment our other less well performing forwards.
