For the first time Marky I will go along with you on this to a degree. Doyle reminds me of the sort of forward Rafa seems to like - mobile, good control and touch and decent awareness of others. If Reading goes down he might be a decent addition to the squad - taking Fowlers place basically. He is a decent player with the potntial to become a lot better, however he is not yet good enought improve our first XI and may never be.

Yep. Plays for Reading - they signed him from Cork City for under £100,000 and he was a revelation in the Championship. He has done pretty well in the PL since they came up as well.

Lets see if he proves his worth first then eh? Many is the time a striker will come up with a team and be decent only because other teams havent worked out how to defend against him yet, Ala Ricketts and people like that.

To be fair unlike Ricketts he is capable of controlling a football. Still there is the ever present danger of him being the new Marcus Stewart.

He's a tidy player who's coped with two step ups in class in 2 seasons.

He scored 18 goals in his first Championship season and already this season he's got 7 league goals. That's as many as the two strikers we sent out yesterday incidentally.

He'll never get a huge amount of attention because he's not the quick powerful striker that the Premiership seems to favour, but he's shown he's got the knack for scoring goals.

I said it last week on 6CM, this guy has been the best value for money signing bar none in the past couple of years. £70k is all he cost.

                  Totally agree with that.

I like him and he reminds me of the sort of the Mista sort of front player Rafa had at Valencia. He would potentially be a good option for us but it really all depends on the price.

Actually, he IS pretty quick and strong. As for a potential signing for us, he's nowhere near yet. Lets see if he can continue his form whilst improving his all round game, and start doing the business for Ireland aswell..

And thus pushing his price up, sometimes you need to take a chance on a player when you aren't blessed with endless millions

FFS. The lad is likely to get a fair few goals this season, but he is nowhere near LFC class.
