I never understand comments like that. In argentina they literally tear the little players apart. I remember similar comments about Aimar but he is a tough little SOB.

The thing is some South Americans have adapted well, whatever you think of their ability like Thome and Juninho and Emerson, some haven't. It's a bit like every player from a different country they have to adapt to the new conditions and culture and it is a bit of a gamble. Having said that getting players in when they are young means that they have plenty of time to aclimatize if you don't try to push them into the team too early.

Also there are English players who are a bit like that, when he was young Joe Cole was shocking in that sort of match. Nationality is any easy cop out when analysing all the vast number of factors that affect the suitability of players for the ****ty away matches.

The pic above was taken during the PSV game.

The stuff about him playing in the first team was from the Echo -

"There are those at Anfield who believe Insua could challenge for a first team spot before the end of this season, and will certainly be an option in time for the 2007-08 campaign."

But Argies are tougher, it can get bloody cold down south in Argentina. Look at a map

Their not near the equator, there is all of brazil in the way, their climate is for the most post similar to the uk and france except in the far north. The skin colour is because most Argentinians are of Spainish and Italian descent.

                      thanks for that Matt.
Their Climate is still generally warmer that Liverpool though, unless you live high up in the mountains. They are between 22 deg. and 55 deg. off the equator, while we (liverpool are 55deg.).
As a whole, I would think they are more used to the warmer climate.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

You have to remember though we have the gulf stream, hence the UK climate is very warm for its latitude, we have the climate of somewhere further south than here, also Argentina recieves currents from the Antartica cooling the region down.
