well theres a load of reasons if you think about it. plus we wont get him in january anyway as sevilla are 2nd in the league and i doubt they'd sell unless it was a stupidly large price plus he'd want the chance to play CL football with them.

That's a good point - they have been bobbins this season and Ancelotti is probably on his way out the way things stand. According to James Richardson's column in the Guardian they may also be a bit skint for the first time in years:

While Berlusconi has made a series of desperate-sounding hints about Ronaldinho and the much-missed Andriy Shevchenko ("he told me just yesterday he'd love to come back" offered a shamelessly straight-faced Silvio on Saturday), he's also admitted that the club have struggled to balance their books. Thus more low-key moves for Lazio right-back Massimo Oddo and Udinese frontman Vincenzo Iaquinta might be a possibility.

Having said that they are still AC Milan and a huge club and a big draw for any player I'd imagine.

The problem for Milan and any other clubs that want him is that Liverpool is his first choice if he leave Sevilla.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                His agent.

"I can say that, without any doubts, the player wants to go to Liverpool," Baster stated.
"Personally I have not listened to any other club, although some have rung and I have passed them on to Sevilla, but what Daniel wants to is to play for Liverpool.
"The two sides (Liverpool and Sevilla) are getting closer, we are still quite a way apart, but if the president of Sevilla has said this (that Sevilla are resigned to losing him), who am I to contradict it.
"Daniel was not looking to leave Sevilla, but there are times when - without actually having forced the issue - you want to improve yourself.
"Daniel is very happy here with the fans, the club and with everything, but every player in the world always wants to play for a bigger club, it's not that Sevilla aren't big.
"I don't think I can give a timescale for this because there are differences, but we'll see."

Trust me AF, the minute Roman waves a few roubles at Alves, he'll be over at Stamford Bridge like flies to sh!t. Chelsea can offer him double waht we can/would and very few foreign players imo would turn down Chelsea's millions.

Aren't those quotes from the summer - when LFC were actually negotiating the deal?
                    Oh I don't know.

hmmm i think the only positive is that he isnt a brazilian regular. If he is massively patriotic he knows going to chelsea will **** any chance of being a brazilian player as such may fancy the safer choice of us.

Yes. It was only after we backed out of any deal that Real could make their offer that didn't go through because Cicinho wanted to stay at Real.

If any other club wants him then they must offer more than us.

All that proves is that Alves wanted to join LFC in the summer. If Milan want him now, there is a high chance of the agent saying something similar about them now.

You seem think this means LFC are still his first choice, which is a rather large assumption.
                          Oh I don't know.

I dont like Milans interest, they have a history of Brazilian players, including one of the best Brazilan Fullbacks ever to play being on their books and close to retirement, if there interest is genuine, they too would be genuine contenders for his signature IMHO. It would be naive to think Alves only wants to come to LFC. Although i ahve been impressed the way he wanted us over Barca in the past.
