Armed with the new money from Sheikh Mohammed, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez won't have to think twice when going for his top targets in the transfer market.

Benitez could now find himself with a transfer kitty of up to £100m as part of the £450m takeover deal.

The Kop boss, preparing for tonight's Champions League clash with Galatasaray, said: "I have talked to our chairman David Moores and chief executive Rick Parry about this and I was pleased with what I heard.

"It is always good for a club to have more money and more possibilities."

Shaun Wright-Phillips, out in the cold at Chelsea, is a huge favourite of Benitez.

Seville full-back Daniel Alves could be another target while there may be a move for Spanish hitman David Villa, who played for Benitez at Valencia.

I posted a couple of weeks ago that I'd heard we were after SWP and Alves again. It was just something that was passed on to me from my bro - not from an official source or anything.

Just to complete what I'd heard - Bellamy off to Villa and Crouch off to Spurs or Newcastle (!). Oh and Sami to Sunderland.

This isn't gospel ok - before I get slated. Just passing on info I'd heard.

The speculation have started and we will know probably be linked with a lot of expensive players.

Unfortunately, we'll be linked with a lot of players with their valuations doubled now that we could be in the money. I have no problem with us being a rich club and spending a lot of money but I would object to us paying well over the odds for anyone.

I think if nothing else the shear number of changes to the squad in the last year has already had an effct on morale - this sort of further upheaval (selling Crouch, Bellamy, Hyypia) would be a huge mistake at this stage. I can well believe that Sami will be off in the summer though (which will be sad).

Tribal Football are utter tripe. 100m for a transfer kitty? WTF? I don't believe that Rafa would get that much dosh for new players. With this take over prices of all our targets will be over inflated by selling clubs.
