I don't fully understand these Regulations. They say one player who has played in a UEFA club competition for another club "may exceptionally be registered". Does this mean in exceptional circumstances or simply that there is one exception per squad to the normal rules?

We can only register one player who's played in the UEFA Cup this season as long as we have not played in it and as long as the club he is leaving have not played in the CL. We are allowed to add 3 players by 1st Feb to play against Barca but only one who has played in the UEFA cup.

Thanks for clarifying that - I understand. Sorry to have misled everyone.

Syd will just have to hope that if we sign Neill, we also get Alves and register him as our one exception.
