I'll be genuinely gutted if he leaves.

Surely a bit part role perhaps with a view to moving into the coaching set up? Though he is still quite young isnt he...

He also has played a big part in the likes of Coutinho and Firmino (and before them Suarez) settling so well in Merseyside.

He was superb on Sat, MotD did a little piece showing him covering in front of Lovren and Matip, he was a huge part of Lukaku not getting a kick, and Everton being lost in midfield. On top of that he is such a competitor as well, which totally belies his nice guy image.

The guy is just such a professional, never moans just gets on with it. He is still capable of a great game here and there and obviously midfield is his position. I would love us to keep him here as a squad player next season but really and truly he should be looking for first team football elsewhere. I think he'd be amazing in Serie A

I think he will be captain against boro for his final appearance. I'm assuming he's off in the summer.

I love the way he snaps into tackles. We really don't have a player who puts his body into challenges like Lucas other than maybe Can.

He was great today, I love the guy but I did think that he wasn't capable of performances like that anymore.

His position is a difficult one he's still young enough to have a few good years as a regular perhaps in a slower league which he isn't going to get here, and part of me feels he needs to move on for his own good. But he's a perfect pro and you'd love to have him around and available when called on.

By the way he'll have been here for 10 years by the summer are there any plans for a testimonial for him?

Coutinho wins Motm hands down today. Lovren had a better game than Matip. But it's all about opinions obviously. Lucas is right near the top as my Motm though.

    We were all worried.

I must admit - I didn't think he still had a CM performance like that in him.

His game intelligence is incredible. When he is on it like that he reads the game as well as anyone. It was a truly great performance.

Proabably the most under-rated player in premier league history. He's played some world class performances for us but it never seems to get highlighted by the media.

I've a huge soft spot for Lucas. I thought he was completely done tbh.
he has a good footballing brain but sometimes struggles with pace and power so ends up just clattering players down.
hopefully this time spend with can and grujic will allow them to learn from him and they can become the more all round players we hoped for.

and lets hope they dont ask him for a urine sample today
