I read somewhere that some German guy called Seb Rudy was being seriously looked at - out of contract in the summer so it would be a matip style signing as opposed to a January deal....

I can't see klopp letting Lucas go without having someone lined up though. Brozovic part exchange would be great but I cant see it

I'd have thought he'd like to stick around to collect a PL winners medal in May

My only gripe is why bother with a loan, unless it comes with a fee in addition to covering wages.

He's versatile but I don't think he's good enough (or has the legs) to be playing ahead of others in any position. This season he's looked really ropey as a CB and he can't join in with a quick pressing game in MF. Klopp is not the right manager for him to play under now. Must be earning a fair wedge too.

Would be gutted to see Lucas go, he's a good player to have around covers a number of positions and is very experienced, but for his own career you feel he has to move, he still has a few years ahead of him, and isn't going to get regular games here.

Hope we give him a 20 min run-out tonight after the 4th goes in and he gets a great reception.

Lucas leaving would make no sense to me. Having sold Allen I'd hate to sell on the only defensive mid we really have when we are pushing for title/ top four.

Will be very pleased if that's the case. I really like Gomez and feel that Klopp wouldn't gamble on this. So if he's making the call on the basis we have Gomez then I take that as a sign he is progressing well in terms of fitness and ability.

We still have Sakho too if the sky fell in. For now anyway.

Jurgen will live or die by his decisions, that's why he gets the big bucks! He's clearly seen enough of Joe to deem it a risk worth taking and as Chris says, Lucas hasn't been great and Gomez will never push on without minutes on the pitch.
