I like Lucas in that role. Mascherano and Blind have shown the evolution of defenders and why this is the way forward. Good to see Klopp keeping up with trends. One of Lucas' (and Mascherano and Blind for that matter) real strengths is very good positioning in midfield. As well as good ball control and awareness. Easy to bring this level of intelligence into a traditionally brainless area - defence. One tit for another.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Lucas - Sakho partnership for half a dozen games or so. It has to be worth trying anyway. If Lucas excels at that role, then for me it could save a good few million in the tranny market this summer (Matip on a free might end up being the only defender we need to sign then)
Put it this way, if we were playing the CapOne Cup final tomorrow, then I would probably prefer to see Lucas - Sakho than any other partnership right now.

I thought that he had already passed the 300 mark a few games ago, I remember it being mentioned in the cup game against StokeOriginally posted by Buzzo View PostBased on his Wiki page - it will be his 300th appearance for us if he gets a game tomorrow.
I loved seeing him with the captains armband on Tuesday it suits him.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I did think whilst posting that perhaps I should have gone with a slightly more reliable source.
EDIT: 303 appearances according to the offal
Modifying post.

I said this earlier on in the season when we had those injuries left right and center, he might not be the biggest, but he does have that great positioning sense and actually a great winner of the headers.
