Aye.....Lucas would be the No.1 choice as captain if he was certain to start most games, but the Henderson-show was put into motion (with Lucas not only not starting, but also on his way out), which is fair enough. Don't think Klopp would upset things at the moment, but he should be ahead of Milner FFS !

Lucas seems to have Klopps ear, he's an intelligent footballer and clearly Klopp sees him as an important guy on the pitch. Shame he's not a bit younger and pre injury.

Sebastian Kehl played for Dortmund under Klopp well into his 30s so there is no reason Lucas can't do it if he stays injury free.

I know you like him and that's fair enough, each to their own mate. I just think he's a wimp and a panicker. We need leaders and fighters, I don't think he's either.

Problem for us is relying on the fitness of Lucas as our only DM.

Just tires after 75 minutes for me. I wouldn't play him in mid week games at all. Play Joe Allen instead.

Been with us years now too, so rare to see this sort of loyalty from a player, especially a South American in England.

In fairness, he's hardly had Barca chasing him has he?

But I do think he's great for the squad. He's like a father figure to a small contingent of players. And what's more, we are playing a system that suits him. Finally we are utilising a DM correctly. He's going to look better & better IMO.
