Yup, well chuffed for Maxi.

I'd not only keep him, but I'd have him as one of the first names on the teamsheet and start him every week. He was brilliant last season with Suarez, Kuyt & Meireles, and he linked up well with Bellamy yesterday too.

Haha new found love, overstating much? it's more of what i see (IMO) as the better options for our starting 11.

Talk about over stating it justttt a wee bit, he is a better much option than Downing and Kuyt is a better option than henderson, simple as that. I have said this several times, always said i was never Maxi biggest fan but he is a better option than Downing. Also that doesn't mean that there aren't better options out there than Maxi & Kuyt either, but they are our best options in those positions IMO.

couldnt beleive it when seen maxi was to start never mind in 1st team squad. downing played well fior england (possibly best performances this season) whereas maxi has been nowhere near first team so was surprised to see maxi get the nod over him (granted you could argue bellamy was the replacement for downing but second half maxi had the left hand side)

saying that, maxi had a dammed good first half (second half he tired quite badly) and IMO deserves to keep his place against city.

as a side not, henderson off the bench looks a bit more hungry for action. had one good run down the right and was a busy battler in the middle closing down. hopefully a short spell from the bench might ignite his season in the same way i hope this ignites maxi's

Hate, jaysis that's a wee bit strong mate. When he was playing ****e i said he was playing ****e & when he started to play well at end of the season i said he was deserved of his start. Don't really see anything wrong with that?

Sure he hasn't been playing at all this season and i've been saying for months now that he should be a starter ahead of Downing, so it's not breaking news. I think i'm just saying what most LFC supporters are saying.

I think Maxi is a good player. But the 'Myth of Maxi' is getting crazy. If you read this forum, some posts basically have him as our best player this season.

I tend to agree, but IMO he is a better option than Downing at the moment.

He gives us a more attacking threat and even though he go missing abit in games he does have an end product, but just because he gives us better options at LM doesn't mean there aren't much better players out there for us for that "LM" position. Good squad player to have though & should be getting more game time.

To be honest, and I know I'm not a fan, but I thought he was poor yesterday bar the goal. He did nothing of note IMO. Same for Kuyt, both didn't really convince me they should be in the team.

Fair comments. My point being their best options we have at those positions for now. Although i would like to see Bellamy starting more often either LM or RM (knees permitting). Kuyt has been below par this season

I'm not saying anything others haven't said. For me it's play the best options you have available, not as earth shattering and controversial as few posters are making out, others have said as
much on many occasions, just the username getting the reaction is all

There's some truth in the username thing aye, but you dont help yourself by being so black & white in your arguments 1 way or another a lot of the time, so people remember your arguments more clearly as opposed to others who are more tempered & less vociferous.

Anyway, I agree with your (current ) viewpoint that Maxi is our best option, but there are better options out there (altho I very much doubt there are for the price we paid).

Mate i don't retaliate like i used to, lot of WUM and kids on the net, my mistake was replying back to them and it doesn't look good when seems you're arguing on every thread, haven't been aggressive to anyone since joining EST, even when one or two try to draw you out, my posts on here are for all to see. And the username is very true, if i was that bothered or worried about it sure i would have changed it, and nobody would have ever known. If people haven't realised i'm a very easy going guy at this stage they never will Or maybe it's just them

I don't think i'm no more black and white than you or any other poster on here. There are alot of characters on here and in every forum, a hell of alot louder (vociferous) and aggressive than me (some currently posting on this thread).

The way it is, people will try and play the oneupmanship, they'll pull you on the negative things e.g. me saying Maxi is a pussy (Said by several people), but yet they will conveniently forget any of the positive things you said. it's selective posting, sure we all do it.

EDIT: Yup for me it's not controversial saying a player played ****e, or that he shouldn't be in the starting 11. Just because i don't think Downing & Hendo should start doesn't mean i don't think there not decent squad options ya know. January should be interesting as regards what positions kenny will look to improve.

P.S. Unrelated: What i find funny on the net in forums, is that so many people seem to drag their opinions across threads. Seems if you disagree with them about a particular topic, they will be negative towards you just out of spite on something completely unrelated. Random thought but IMO very true. That's how i personally judge a poster, if they can realise that it's just an opinion, we all have and just because you disagree with them on one thing it's nothing personal & you could share similar views about most other things.
