To be honest, and I know I'm not a fan, but I thought he was poor yesterday bar the goal. He did nothing of note IMO. Same for Kuyt, both didn't really convince me they should be in the team.

I could talk about his intelligent movement and simple one touch passing with a fluid front four; however, considering how profligate we have been in front of goal all season, his goal alone means he should start next week.

We are some team, that can carry two players at Stamford bridge and still get the three points.

P.S. Unrelated: What i find funny on the net in forums, is that so many people seem to drag their opinions across threads. Seems if you disagree with them about a particular topic, they will be negative towards you just out of spite on something completely unrelated. Random thought but IMO very true. That's how i personally judge a poster, if they can realise that it's just an opinion, we all have and just because you disagree with them on one thing it's nothing personal & you could share similar views about most other things.

Arn gets a lot of **** for this. He gets **** every thread he posts in. Fair enough, pick apart his arguments, but dont pick apart the poster. I often feel sorry for the guy.

even though i probably don't agree with 99% of what he says, he takes more stick than i've ever seen any poster take in the history of the internet!!!

But he is very rarely abusive or agro which you have to give him credit for, as it is difficult sometimes to refrain from doing so. Think people get
peeved as he is very adamant about things, personally i have no problem with the guy.

I think that Maxi is more suited to a quick, short, one touch passing game where we move the ball about quickly, than Downing. I've mentioned before I don't think we could play that way with Downing and Carroll in for Bellamy and Maxi. That's the way I'd prefer us to play, we have players who are in the team week in week out that can play that way (e.g. Suarez and Adam) but we need most players in the midfield and attack to be able to do it well for the team to do it effectively.

We played like we did at the end of the season yesterday. The big difference when Maxi play compared to Downing is that he know how to play together with Suarez. If Suarez open up space then you can be sure that Maxi will spot it straight away. Excellent reader of the game. Probably the best in the squad.

Kuyt is another player that is an excellent reader of the game. He don't have the best skill or technique but he compensates that with his vision. He is very often the first player to react on a rebound.

Rafa built his team around very clever players. Not the best players out there but they understood the game. We have a couple of players that really don't fit into that, Downing and Carroll. I think that is the main reason to why they struggle to adapt.

Players that understand the game don't need any time to adapt.

I think Maxi is a good player. But the 'Myth of Maxi' is getting crazy. If you read this forum, some posts basically have him as our best player this season.

He is a better option than Downing and that is the reason to why he should play and not Downing.

Maxi deserve to keep his place. Downing will have to wait on his chance and then take it when he get it.
