Whys he out of favor at the moment? I know he wasn't exactly inspirational when he played. But he was a hell of a lot better than Downing.

I really like Maxi and would like to see him given more of a chance, he's got 4 goals in 10 games this season, (not sure how many of those have been starts) but that probably makes him our most prolific player
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I know stats don't tell the whole picture but I'm sure Maxi's would hold up against any of our players.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI really like Maxi and would like to see him given more of a chance, he's got 4 goals in 10 games this season, (not sure how many of those have been starts) but that probably makes him our most prolific player

I remember he had one particularly poor game (can't remember which) and he came in for a bit of criticism. Someone posted some stats after the match and I was surprised to see our worst player according to some have the best pass completion rate of something like 96 or 98%.
I know that doesn't mean much, but I still think even when not playing well that Maxi offers something to the team, which I can't necessarily say the same about everyone else.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He's in the Argentina squad?!

I like Maxi and I think it's criminal how such a goal threat can't get a sniff this season. I know his last few performances have been ****, but he's a good player and it'd make more sense than having four defenders on the bench.
He's definitely in the Litmanen and Luis Garcia bracket of signing a couple of years too late and being sold a year too early.

That is the biggest issue, he offers a genuine goal threat for a side devoid of goal threats. I said early that given enough games he could get ten goals this season. I think his record suggests that is possible, sadly we have too often been lumbered with Downing not doing anything instead.

He was injured for while but he played against Chievo the other day and he looked amazing for first 45 minutes but it is clear that he lacks match fitness, which may be the reason why he wasn't called for the friendly.Originally posted by Phoenix06 View PostAhead of Lavezzi too.
Another one that wasn't called was Banega..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Weird that this wasn't really publicised.
Maxi Rodriguez will return to the Liverpool squad for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Brighton.
The Argentinian midfielder has been out of action with a foot injury sustained in training, but has been passed fit for the fifth round tie at Anfield.
“Maxi is back training,” confirmed manager Kenny Dalglish. “He had a kick on his foot in training but he’s fine now.
“He’s back in the Argentina squad which is good for him."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
