Clearly most of my posts about our players are reasonable and not abusive (If you want to call pussy as being abusive). The only player i can honestly say i was wrong about was Lucas. I had no problems in admitting that either, was egg on mine and 90% of LFC supporters faces and rightly so. And you also said his "criticism was justified at the time".

And why on earth are you talking about work? I do not work with or know any of these footballers, hell of alot different when you know someone personally. And during a game the words "Get stuck in" , "Don't bottle it" , "Don't be a pussy" , "Put you're foot in" etc and worse are used. Clearly you are a hell of alot more sensitive about the word "pussy" than i am, when sport is involved.

FYI, any LFC supporter that calls another LFC supporter a manc is a complete and utter idiot (EDIT: not directed any particular poster). Obviously they know any LFC supporter is not a manc, it is blatantly just a method of abuse. I think you know this to be true mate

You're either misunderstanding the point, or pretending not to get it.

It's not about being sensitive, words dont really offend me and it's not even about anyone taking offence. It's not about words used on a football pitch, nor is it about knowing the players or working with them.

It's about the idea of a Liverpool SUPPORTER engaging in name-calling, against their own players. It just completely goes against all things associated with a supporter. Do you really not understand this?

Just in the same way that i would never dream of booing Liverpool players, i would never make abusive comments about them or get into name-calling with Liverpool players. Whether you think 'pussy' is offensive or not (it doesnt 'offend' me in the slightest), the point is, it's a derogatory term, generally used in an insulting context. That's a fact.

It's not even about rating a player or not rating them. It's about respecting them, regardless.

And whether you like it or not, or admit it or not, calling Liverpool players derogatory/insulting names IS something that Man Utd/Everton fans do, i know this because i've experienced it.

I honestly dont know what's wrong with just saying "fair enough, it's clearly an insulting term even if i didnt mean it in that way". You've admitted you got it wrong with regards to how good Lucas has become and i did the same, i never for one minute thought he'd develop into the player he has done - and hence, i was wrong about that too. I dont get why one thing is so easy to acknowledge having got wrong, but not the other.

And FWIW, i'm not having a go at you, i dont have a problem with you and i dont think you're a manc

Using derogatory terms against LFC players is something mancs tend to do too though, that's all i was saying.

And i'm not 'arguing for arguing's sake' before some pleb wades in with that one

I'm just replying to your post and doing you the courtesy of acknowledging it, as you did with mine - and clarifying what i meant.

Anyways, back to the the topic in hand. I completely disagree with whoever said Luis carried Maxi & Kuyt this season- I'd argue that they & Raul reflected the pass & move ethos of the club far better than the other options & we seemed a much more intergated attacking unit back then.

Whilst I disagree with picking Downing/Hendo instead of Maxi, I can nontheless understand the logic behind it. What I really struggle with is that Maxi has been all but frozen out completely. For me not to even have him as an option on the bench is absurd.
