I think his record speaks for itself really.
Yes it can get a bit OTT, he's never gonna be our saviour, but he's a real clever and effective player who should have played more. He's symbolic of the unsuccessful change from last season's quick, fluid passing and moving; he played a key part, helps gets the best out of Suarez and, like all top players, is on the same wavelength. That seemed to be ripped up, with Maxi binned, to go towards something more predictable, maybe more British. Cross it, head it. And it clearly hasn't worked very well. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

And there is one thing that Maxi can do that so few of our midfielders can do and that is score, he has done it his whole career.
Agree the cross it, head it approach, which is also quite low percentage in approach.

Yep, what I meant by his record speaking for itself is his goal return for us. Yes he can have quiet games and be on the periphery of the things at times, but even in those games he's liable to pop up with a goal. Goals are the game's most vital currency and it surprises me how many people write it off..."yeah he scores a few goals but he's **** isn't he"

Wish we'd signed him six or seven years ago.

Having someone else who can contribute goals from midfield is something we've been missing. Despite hardly ever playing, only 4 players have scored more goals than him.Last edited by Exiled_red; 16-03-12, 08:24 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

by no means a world beater these days but has guile, good link play and makes great runs into dangerous areas, something that is alien to most of our players. Baffling how he has been binned from our first team.
