Lets see if he still likes a microphone by the end of his first season at Liverpool

I hear Maxi's gone. Trained this morning but had meeting with his lawyers and the club afterwards and according to team-mates he's off.

Wonder if BR wanting to keep him was just a ploy to keep more of the fee, no pay off to Maxi?

            Maxi gone

            Kuyt gone

            Potentially Bellamy gone

We are really going to feel the pinch of years of lack of proper investment and poor transfer strategy this year.

Brendan has a really tough job on his hands this year

Or, peekay, out with the old in with the new (by that I mean young: Suso, Sterling, etc).

Liverpool Football Club can today confirm that Maxi Rodriguez has joined Newell's Old Boys in Argentina.

Maxi, who arrived at Anfield from Atletico Madrid in January 2010, netted 17 goals in 73 appearances for the Reds.

Highlights of the midfielder's Anfield career include two hat-tricks in the space of a couple of weeks against Birmingham and Fulham in 2011 as well as important strikes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November of that year.

Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Maxi for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.

                  Well that went well Brendan.

                  Shame, but never mind.

Sad about it, would've been great under Rodgers, but at least it's a load more off the wage bill.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Dear Reds, I am leaving Liverpool FC today.

Before signing for LFC, I just saw the club as one of the greatest institutions in football. After my time here I can confirm that this is not just a great club but also a great family.

I have tried to give everything every day that I was wearing the LFC crest. It has been a great honour to defend this shirt during two and a half years. I am returning home with a suitcase full of great memories, good friends within the team and also within this great family that works every day in the club. Thanks a lot for your support. You can NOT imagine what a great honour it was for me when the Kop sang, 'Maxi, Maxi Rodríguez runs down the wing for me da da da da dada...'

                              Hasta la vista.

                              Maxi

                                ****s sake.

Ah well, he wants to go home. Fair enough.

Should've been given more of a chance last season but that's a different kettle of onions.

Thanks Maxi and good luck lad.
