    Maxi Rodriguez

Do people thing he's good or bad? I find him somewhat of an irrelevancy and for the most part hardly notice him on the pitch. He probably had his best game yesterday, which in a way highlights how little he has done since coming to Liverpool. I think his legs have gone a bit. For me, he's been a very disappointing signing.

Be interested to know other opinions on him.

I thought he was rubbish. But yesterday showed to me that he is capable of being a good player. He is just soo inconsistent.
    *Except Michael, who died.

He played well at the end of last season. He hasn't played well under Roy, but that is imo, down to Roy's ineptitude.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I can't find out if it's true or not, but I read over the weekend that he was voted the fans player of the month back in April.

Disappointed he's not been more of a goal threat in this league to be honest, he's got a decent scoring record through the rest of his career. I thought he was ok last season, just looked like a player coming to terms with a very different style of football, but he's been awful this season until yesterday, which was his best game in a red shirt.

Want to see something like this from him

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue

He's mostly been rubbish. But he was very good yesterday. If he could play like that every week then I would be happy with him. He actually showed real determination when I had thought he wasn't interested. Here's hoping he hits a run of form now and shows the same work rate again

He seems to float around a lot with little end product.

I have previously been irritated by his lack of bite in a 50/50 challenge, but seemed to put his weight around yesterday.

Good technique without being outstanding, can strike a ball, but with no direction and can find a pass without being clinical.

All a bit 'meh' in my eyes.

I think he needs a certain style of football to get the best out of him. Play some quick one touch pass and move football and he comes alive. Ask him to stay out on the touchline and play long ball football and he's complely useless.

A good manager playing attacking football would get the best out of him.

A lot of our good moves did seem to involve him yesterday, and on another day and against a keeper who didn't play a blinder he probably would have scored.

I've noticed precious little difference between this season and last season from the player. Overall, since he arrived last January he's been very unremarkable.

I think he needs good movement around him to function well, although most players do, but if the players around him become static he kind of lacks the energy or explosiveness to do things on his own, IMO.
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think he's got it in him to be a decent player, just doesn't ever seem to apply himself in games - yesterday he looked decent and I loved the crunching tackle he put in, first time I've seen him go in and win a ball like that for us.

Hopefully he'll kick on with yesterdays performance and shows that he deserves to be at Anfield.

To be fair to Maxi, one of the things he did do last year was get stuck in and he was also on the receiving end of a few shocking tackles which he didn’t make a fuss about. Gary ****ing Neville caught him in the chest with his studs (similar to De Jong on Alonso) and he didn’t even get a free kick for it.

Ah I remember the Neviller doing that, deserved a chinese burn for that

Let's hope that he can use yesterdays performance to kick on this season, infact lets hope the entire ****ing team uses that 70 off minutes to kick on!
