Its this really. When the slip happened they were on the half way line with no need to be. He tried to outgun Jose and failed.

In fairness though, if we won that title we wouldn't have had Klopp. I'm fine with the slip now, best thing to happen in hindsight.

Nobody has called him that, it was just his naive tactics that contributed to the defeat.

I don’t buy it. I get that people want to deflect away from Gerrard though.

I don't think naivety was evident in the Chelsea game but his lack of experience/whatever contributed to the Palace cluster****.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Jaysus that Palace game was hard to take. What were we thinking? That's were the manager should have got clear instructions on to calm the **** down. We needed something like a 7 goal swing. It was arrogant even to go for that.

Look lads, face it...as much we were brilliant in going forward under Rodgers, we were woeful at the back, keeper too!... Jamie Carragher said it will be our Achilles heel so when we came up against teams that had a decent defence, we were found wanting...slip or not & again against Palace, 3-0 up & for them to come back 3-3...that says we didn't deserve to win that year, no matter how much we wanted it!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Rodgers has to take responsibility for binning Pep for a keeper utterly unsuited to his style of play, and who just happened to be a bit ****e too. The defence was still crap, but at least Pep could stay awake for 90 minutes

Didn't we concede about 50 goals that season?

                            Yep, 51 from memory.

                            Edit. Exactly 50,GD was 51.

The success of that team all year came from taking the game to the opponent and outscoring them, no matter who they were.

It was one of his strengths as a manager and he was the first on to do that consistently for a long while at Liverpool
That's undeniable which only highlights his naivety in having no alternative to going for it, even when he didn't need to go for it
