He deserves that, nothing more, nothing less. Developed well this season and whilst he's dropped off slightly, he's still at a much higher level than could have been hoped.

Thankfully we will soon have others in to take the pressure off him and allow him to develop at a much steadier progress.

I disagree. He hasn't earned that. It's market forces and that is something completely different.

He's better than Downing and if we didn't pay him a decent salary someone else would have. £30k sounds about right. I like his attitude, even when he's not particularly effective he's having a go - which is more than can be said for some of our players.
