needed to be dropped from the starting line up. started to look really frustrated nothing was coming off from him. probably too much pressure ragrdless of what he says being made a "star" by the media so young into a career. he's looked better off the bench of late and with downings form and sturridges goals it makes the decision easier for rodgers to protect his long term future.

Pretty much. Not just coz he needs to focus on football first but he was given tons and tons of abuse during the contract negotiations (actually deactivated his account for while) and then again when his form dipped as of late.Originally posted by Chazza View PostSensible stuff.
Without the doubt and it is clear that he is not the same player now and early in the season.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostI think Walcott was probably worse at his age. Bale too.
He's been overplayed . and it could hinder his development, it's good to see him have some time out of the teamMember #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think he is the same player, what we're seeing now is just the inevitable, natural process of an extremely talented but overly young player. First few games are all zest and enthusiasm and then they start to look what they actually are, a boy playing against men. There are very very few 17/18 year olds with the simple physique to consistently perform at this level, and those that do are usually burnt out by 23.
In the long run the games Sterling got before Jan will stand him in very good stead for his future, IF he is now given a good couple of seasons to grow and develop without excessive pressure to perform. I hope he's mature enough to take that time the right way too.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Exactly, sometimes I am embarassed to a Liverpool fan, ****in Bellend CUNTS, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!Originally posted by The Birdman View PostMy god there are some utter cunts in this thread slagging off Sterling.
He's just turned 18 ffs. We won't sell him but if we did ALL the clubs above us (note that makes them better) would be in for him.
Sterling is the brighest English talent in years.
Saying things like "he's been found out" or "he's only got one way of playing and that's to cut in" or "his final ball is ****" just confirms suspicions that you don't have a single clue about anything football related.
He may get injured next week, run over by a milk cart or just not quite become a world beater but some opinions on him in this thread are pathetic.
Slagging off a 18 year old kid, what has supporting Liverpool come to.

Think it's something to do with when he was in contract talks. That and the pictures of his kid have started popping up, and he admitted a few months back on Twitter he had a kid, then the tweet magically disappeared.Originally posted by Captain Stu View PostAh, here we go:
Sounds to me like someone has had a word with him.Rome wasn't built in a day, but it wasn't built by the apprentice either.

I think a lot of people overplayed the significance of his emergence. He showed a lot of a talent, and could become something brilliant in the future, but his breakthrough wasn't that of a precocious world class talent. He showed good attacking threat with reasonable output - that was excellent for his age but we have no right to expect him to be producing goals or assist with any regularity. He still needs time to develop. Rodgers comment was more or less right about Raheem having had a good season even if he doesn't play until next term.Like blood on iron

Having watched Downing labour down the left for months, I think we all got excited when someone on the left wing actually beat a man.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostI think a lot of people overplayed the significance of his emergence. As I said, he's promising.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
