This is how i would like to see Sterling used more often, atm Coutinho is not droppable due to his form but Sterling gives us something different.

I hope Jordon Ibe's performance has given Raheem some serious food for thought about his own development.

              In what way?

I think Raheem got jaded and nothing more. Played way too many games this season.

I was pleased we took him out of the team TBH. I was scared we'd overplay him like Wenger did with Wilshere and he'd pick up a serious injury. I think he'll come back all the stronger for it next season.

Ibe did well yesterday, but Sterling had better performances. I know there are a few off the field issues, but it appears they are coming to a conclusion.

Hopefully next season he'll be able to be used more sparingly, i.e. as in impact substitute.

Ibe is ahead of him in my pecking order now. Looks a far better prospect to me.

i worried that having signed his deal that sterling might have thought he had done enough and was a young superstar. maybe seeing other young lads step up and also challenge for 'his position' might make him realise he should not take things for granted and he needs to keep his focus.

                        or just sell him.

I don't really think he is, although I rate him highly. In the past we've often given a youth player a start in the final game of the season. We did it with Robinson remember? They then get put back into the reserves etc. It's nothing unusual.

I think that will be the case with Ibe too, although he might force his way in if he's great in pre-season (as Raheem did last year).

I still think Sterling will be a first team squad regular next year, but I think it'll be another 12 months before that's the case with Ibe.

This is bizarre. He's injured, not behind Ibe or lost focus or whatever.

He's past it mate. His best days are behind him. Ibe is younger than him and has his whole career ahead of him. We should look to sell ASAP before his value plummets.
