I think that will be the case with Ibe too, although he might force his way in if he's great in pre-season (as Raheem did last year).

I still think Sterling will be a first team squad regular next year, but I think it'll be another 12 months before that's the case with Ibe.

As I said, Ibe played well yesterday - but it was the last day of the season, against a team already relegated and nothing to play for. Sterling had some good performances against the like of Man City so he's still above Ibe IMO.

He's rightly been taken out of the firing line (partly helped by us getting Dan and Phil in, in January), but he'll be back next season I reckon.

I wonder if BR will look to use him as a squad player next year or send him out for regular first team experience. I suppose with Suarez out, he might have a chance for the start of the season.

Even more amusing now that people were saying we should give him £60-£100k wages if that’s what he was asking for.

Ebay will be the better player. Faster, stronger and has a better shot on him.

The word according to the commentator yesterday (Sturridge) is that a number of people at Liverpool rate Ibe as the biggest talent at the club ,even more than Sterling. Sturridge seems to know a lot of about our youth team players and seems to have some links or contacts within LFC. Either that or he loves watching the LFC channel.

Sterling has a thigh injury. Rodgers declared many weeks ago he wouldn't play again this season even though he is not really injured. He wanted him to fully recover.

Ibe is an amazing talent. Unlike Sterling, he does get to the byline. He also cuts in with good effect. He's much quicker and stronger too. Hopefully Sterling can learn to play on the right as I highly doubt he can stay ahead of Ibe on the left.

It's a good problem to have to be honest.

                Definitely.

Another thing I like about the Ibe situation is that there is not too much hype surrounding him at all outside of the club which I find surprising as at 15, he'd already made 10 or 7 appearences in senior football and he scored a goal too. He had achieved more than Sterling did before the both of them actually joined LFC.

Oh Ibe can actually play almost as well on the right too.

I don't quite get the way that people seem to want this to descend into people having to take sides. We have two exciting, young attacking players in the squad - why not just be happy with that?

The point I was trying to make was that Ibe will put pressure on Raheem now and that's a good thing. That aside, my own personal opinion is that Ibe will be the more accomplished player, but that is not relevant right now I know.

Ibe and Sterling are Rodgers' dream come true. He absolutely loves these types of players (witness Dyer and Sinclair at Swansea). Wouldn't be surprised to see both playing together in a handful of games to allow Suarez/Coutinho more space to operate in the middle.

Suso will need to start doing a mini-Coutinho quick time if he's to keep on the radar.

People are just stating an opinion. The fact is comparisons will always be made with squads as only 11 players can be on the pitch at any one time. Hopefully we will get to the point where both are playing in the team but IMO I doubt it

That's so true bigchief. At the moment Suso is the loser here, with Coutinho in and both these guys more effective out wide, I can't see Suso getting much of an opportunity. He is the one who should go out on loan.

Yeah I'd have Suso out on loan & not Sterling. He will be used sporadically next season as an impact sub whereas Suso will be better getting more game time elsewhere.

Nope, that gives me the impression he's bloody well rated and we should try and get the best out of him !
