he's in, he's fernando torres, he cost £50m, it's last minute of a game thats been won, and he's in on a keeper who has come out and commited, tight angle or not he could of bent round to the far corner, slotted it through the keepers legs or walked past the keeper and rolled it home near post

    He bottled it
Guaranteed. Old Torres would have buried that. (or atleast tried to).

Almost, i think Shaggy is saying it's where Torres shot would have ended up had he not bottled it, and so he made the right choice to pass.

But of course our point is that regardless of right choice....he still bottled it.

Some of you will never give him any credit ever again if it kills you. Makes a goal with a good bit of play and great presence of mind/composure/unselfishness, and still he's belittled. If it makes you feel better then...

If Chelsea finish outside the top 4 I will give him all the credit in the world.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Anyone notice how that bell Hoddle pronounced Torres?

                          "Tor-rez"

                          He's such a bell

So, professional footballer in two accurate passes shocker.

Adding those two assists to last season's goal, do Chelsea now have enough material for a 'Best Of' Torres DVD?

His usual self. Not even close.

The angle wasn't all that kind for a shot but as he's so desperate to score and it was the last minute, it showed great presence of mind and awareness to lay it on a plate for Mata. It wasn't the easier option, it was the right option as Mata was in a far better position and Torres had the presence of mind to see that.

I know we're all finding it quite funny but let's not make stuff up just to rip him
I am not so sure he meant to pass it to Mata the way he did. Most of his passes yesterday were not accurate (behind, too short, too long etc.) and the assist to Mata to me looked more like the miss-hit. He intended to pass by imo it was a lucky assist.

last night afte watching him I'd give him probably a 6.5-7/10 for that performance he worked hard all night and put a shift in, couple of spurned chances and he did set up a good goal.

The thing is though he's been total muck since he left us and that has been his best performance so far in a CFC shirt, not sure a £50M striker should be given too much credit at the moment (sky making news about him with an assist FFS) as so far thats about all he's done in the shirt.
