"It was a fantastic bit of business." - Slur Alex Ferguson after last night's game on Chelsea signing Torres

I'd like to see that interview, surely he must have been doing this when he said that?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

Seriously. This january must have been one of the best transfer windows for many years. And the best sale ever for Liverpool. One sulky out of form striker who lowers the morale of the whole team for 50 million!

He doesnt just look out of form, he looks completely shot. See if Atletico will pay £25m in the summer and cut our losses, we waited ages for Shevchenko to stop looking like he was running in quick sand, it just doesnt happen. He's been playing since 17, has had injuries and it seems its taken a big toll.

He's giving us absolutely nothing and the excuses made for him are disgraceful. It's not just at us either, he didn't look right at Liverpool for a while though typically still managed to perform against us!

The poor finishing, the mis controlling the ball, the mis hit left footed shots, getting out run by the likes of John O Shea and Gareth Barry, he's garbage. £50m for a player past his prime is truly insane.

other than that though - amazingly a lot are trying to convince themselves that it's not torres's fault - apparently he was out of form all season (funny that because we thought he was slowly starting to fire and scored a few for us before he left which is why we were gutted) - and also, it's lampard, drogba and essiens fault that torres is ****

Torres has not been the same player since he got injured just before the World Cup. If he was still our player I'd be trying to work out why, but it's not our problem anymore.

My view is that he is still a quality footballer who's just lacking in confidence and will get back to scoring ways BUT he will never ever reach the heights he did for us. He looks a shadow of THAT player.

That acceleration he had to get past a defender seems to have gone, doubt he'll get it back, similar to that other Judas cunt Owen.

Similar to Owen he'll score goals but won't be the same exciting player that he once was.
                    We come not to play.

The comparison is really true but its strange that it's happened to Torres at such an early age.

Wasn't Owen's breakdown, injuries and loss of form at a similar age ~27?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Do you know what, you're right. It's just hard to fathom Torres's decline so quickly from one of the best in the world to being subbed at half time. Not even injured.

I think that Owen's decline was more gradual, and to be honest you could see it coming because of all the injuries. I had started to fear the same with Torres (when he was with us obviously), as he was picking up alot of injuries, but he did come back and play well. This slide in form* has come as a shock because he hadn't actually been injured before it, he'd had a run of games and his form we thought was starting to pick up towards the end of his time with us.

                            * I think Torres will come good again, he isn't as bad as he currently looks, but I don't think he'll ever reach the heights he reached with us. I think that part of the problem with him is that our system was built around him and Gerrard, and focused on getting the best out of them, the Chelsea system isn't set up like that, it's mostly based around Drogba's strength and the likes of Lampard coming from midfield. Torres IMO doesn't suit that role.

It's not just the system mate, honestly not long ago he used to do something productive pretty much everytime he got the ball whether he was out on the wing, stuck in a corner or playing as the last man in attack. Now you're just holding your breath that he doesn't give it away. And his heading? What the ****'s happened to his heading?? Everyone goes on about his finishing on the deck but he used to be awesome in the air. Always a threat in the box. That's just completely vanished too

I cannot accept how he disrespected King Kenny and walked away so suddenly - he did not believe in the King and proved Liverpool really meant nothing to him. Well, Karma is a great thing and I am delighted how things have turned out, both for him and far more importantly for us.
He was my favorite player and I felt betrayed when he pulled the fast one on us.

Having Suarez changed that quicker than I ever expected but I have to say it is damn enjoyable to watch him doing so poorly and I hope his "streak" continues.

How much would you pay to get him back ? 20m ?
He closed that door for good. I never would want him back no matter what.
