He scored 9 goals in 27 for us this year. Not too bad to be honest.

Can't quite believe how badly it has gone for him there.

A hamstring injury in the first couple of months of next season will finish him totally, in my opinion.

        Very shocking.

And when was the last time he had such an injury-free run? Can't be using that as an excuse anymore.

CFC.net - Just makes me feel good to peek there occasionally:

          For example:

Torres just reminds me of all the other flopzillas we've signed over the years - Kezman, Mutu, Forssell, Pizarro, Vialli, Sutton, Shevchenko.

          Or this:

I don't know why it has happened, but Torres has done the allegedly impossible and become a bad player overnight !

People talk about fitting him in to a system and offloading other strikers in order to build the attack around him; that way madness lies ! Torres' problem does not lie in the system; an intelligent and skilful player can adapt to the MO of the team: his problem is that he is simply not good enough in the basic mastery of the game. He has no apparent anticipation, can't work with any of our midfielders, has poor touch and decision-making, doesn't have extraordinary pace and is far from quick and deadly in front of goal.

Having watched him live in all his home appearances I was amazed by his general incompetence. If you compare him with the much vilified Kalou you will surely come to the conclusion that the boy Saloman must stay and Fernando must go; yes Kalou often has trouble finishing; yes he can lose the ball, but Torres is neither capable of running with the ball, nor finding the positions consistently in which to have the opportunity to screw up in front of goal. He also appears to have severe problems with basic ball control.

The only reasons Torres is tolerated here are his price tag and desperation on the part of all of us for him to succeed. My prediction is that we will keep him for another season, he will not improve and we will sell him for a huge loss either in January or at the end of next season. Nothing would make me happier than his proving me wrong by being next season's sensation, but I am confident that he will continue to flop.

If I were Roman I'd do my best to recoup £30 million and sell him now.

          Or maybe:

Sell him in the summer for 25 million, if we're lucky. No more excuses.

              This season:

For Liverpool: A goal every 180 minutes.

For Chelsea: A goal every 1000 minutes.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Should I expect a drive by from Ashley Cole and the boys?

                              More than likely.

They don't have to prove that they're professional marksmen, it's assumed.
