Looking at that clip of Torres goals for us the thing which impresses me is the amount of goals he scores when he still has a defender to beat. Amazing. The amount of times he stands the ball up to a defender, offering them the tackle, but having the ability to go either way to get himself in a position to shoot. Must be an absolute nightmare to play against, pace and power a good sense of positioning and an unnerving ability to get an early shot away.

And then his shooting, the only other forward I can recentlly think off capable of placing the ball just inside the post like that was Fowler. A finisher left foot right foot and in the air. You have to think he'd be dynamite with Saurez. He has had a year of poor form. I'd back Kenny to get him smiling and scoring again. Kenny did it with Rushie.

It's tempting to try and bring him back... Very tempting.

That's why i don't see Chavs letting him go for a long while yet, not untill they're absolutely sure he will never be anything like the player he was.

In Holland - what were Kezman and Kuyt's records like?

agreed. The thing is I'm not sure AVB knows how to manage him. Torres strikes me as a player requiring an arm round the shoulder. Villas Boas looks like he has way too much on his plate to have the time to manage Torres. Or have the experience to coax the best out of him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Roman throw some more money at the problem in January...

N'Gog would tear the Dutch league up. Some of the defenders in that league make Titus Bramble look world class.

Its unreal whats happened to Torres, his decline. He was either cursed the day he left Liverpool or him and Dalglish concocted a devious plan to get 50m out of Chelsea. Then, he'd play **** for Chelsea for a season and be sold back to us for less than half price. Kenny Dalglish then gets into a press conference and tells all the fans it was just a big hoax and that Torres has been deliberately playing ****. Seems unlikely though.

                And Ruud Van Nistelrooy's?

I believe Kuyt's was better than Van Nistelrooy's but we chose to play him on the right instead!

I also wonder whether you can use 'In Holland' as that good an argument really as at the end of the day if you are played into a goalscoring position or get yourself into a goalscoring position you have still got to do the same final thing... put the ball in the back of the net.

I don't think he actually would. Whilst the Dutch League is not as good as the EPL you have still got the final act, as I posted in my previous post, put the ball in the back of the net.

Yes and if you think about Suarez this season. He has been terrorising defences. He has had countless chances but the only thing missing has been the finish. Obviously, he was doing this in Holland but I think he's just going through a patch right now where he has been unlucky and is snatching at chances. I don't buy the whole Dutch league defences are ****e thing. I genuinely think that Suarez will be a 20+ goal a season player for us. Maybe not this season but once our team has undergone our full transition and there is better understanding he will be.

Don't get me wrong, I think Suarez is one hell of a player, one of the best in the EPL, maybe even the World but I do find it quite amusing, albeit unsurprising, that no criticism can go his way but a player who was adored on here is now just plain **** because he made a ****ty decision.

Also, back on the subject of Torres. At what point was it that he got that injury and supposedly lost a yard of pace like the media were saying? If you watch his last few goals for us, he looks exactly the same Torres. Much quicker than everyone else. Is it that he has lost his pace or just completely lacking confidence now?

I just can't agree with some people that he's finished, I'm not having it.

It is a mental psychological thing with Torres being the reason he is disinterested, for all we know it could have been the same feelings and problems in his head that made him want to move in the first place. It's not like he's aged 10 years in the space of a year and lost all his pace, think about it guys.

People are still bitter and rightly so and in their heads they want him to fail and saying he's finished and all that but he isn't. To say he is finished as a player at the age of 27 is total bollocks. Feel free to quote me if in 1 or 2years time if he is still playing as poor as he has been but I doubt very much he will be.

IF he came back to us then Dalglish would sort him out I am absoloutely certain of that. He thrived off the adoration of the fans and he doesn't get that at Chelsea.

We as fans need to get into the minds of players and try imagine what it is like for them.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Surely its too simplistic to say he's **** because he's lost a yard of pace. The form has to be a combination of things. Its easily forgotten how he turned on form when he was with us (completely cuntish, I agree) against Chelsea and immediately before he got his move.

I think we're being buttered up for him to come back . Media leaks to the Mail, stories about how he actually withdrew his transfer request at the 11th hour...

I firmly believe he can be better than anything we have up front at the moment, and better than what is realistically available.

Lee - yeah, easy to disparage the Dutch league for those who want to badmouth a player. But for every Ruud or Marco van Basten, there's five or six like Afonso Alves
