I'm sure Torres still has the ability, I'd love to see him playing alongside Suarez. At the right price I'd happily take him back. I was gutted when he left, but we showed an incredible lack of ambition when we appointed Hodgson. Torres left at the wrong time, he should have given us until the end of the season - he must realise he made a massive mistake leaving for Chelsea.

But, I would take Torres back in a heartbeat, he was amazing, absolutely amazing. I just wish he would have given the new owners and Kenny six months too prove to him that we are moving forward. I will always see him as one of my favourite ever LFC players.

If Rafa ends up at PSG I'd think he's more likely to end up there but Malaga is possible destination as they are one of the few clubs in Spain that can afford his wages and would be willing to take a risk of signing him.

Rushy went to a different country and left in a completely different way. It's not the same.

I'd rather we looked forward. I don't know if someone like Cavani would fit into our style of football, I haven't really seen him play to be honest, but as an International team-mate of Suarez I think he'd settle really fast and it might help keep Suarez here much longer too.

If we did get Torres back though at least my son would be able to start wearing last years Christmas present

You're right of course - I was looking at it very simplistically, based upon £50m given by Roman for Torres in the first place.

I personally think we need more goal scoring midfielders. Suarez is best up top by himself with creative and quick thinking midfielders.

Imagine if we had quick, skilful (and I'm assuming intelligent) players like Hazard and AM Lucas with DM Lucas, Adam and Henderson behind with Bellamy and Maxi as backup.

agreed. The thing is I'm not sure AVB knows how to manage him. Torres strikes me as a player requiring an arm round the shoulder. Villas Boas looks like he has way too much on his plate to have the time to manage Torres. Or have the experience to coax the best out of him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Roman throw some more money at the problem in January...

Spanish correspondant/based english journo, Graham Hunter, said today, that the reason Torres was soooo good at Liverpool, was because Rafa 'micro managed' him.

Telling him exactly how to play against certain sides, how to better certain defenders, where to make runs and find space, etc etc, preparing him meticilously from game to game one on one.

According to him, Torres was the kind of player that responded well to that approach too.

Not sure he has the pace or physical presence to play that role, even forgetting his current lack of clinicality. Also, I feel we'd lose a lot of the good stuff about him, giving him a more restricted role.

Got very lucky spawning it with his players too. Anyone could see Torres was going to be amazing. Basically we were a 2 man team & he was lucky to inherit Gerrard, who was responsible for everything good over that period (in which Benitez was hugely fortunate with his injuries). If anything, Benitez inhibited Gerrard by not playing him at CM cos his signing of Kuyt was so poor up top & he never ever scored any important goals.

Also he signed those terrible midfielders of Alonso & Mascherano who never got forwards & scored goals as well as terrible defenders like Agger, Skrtel & Arbeloa. THe latter cant even get off the bench at Real FFS! It's a testament to Kenny how well the former are playing cos they were woeful under Benitez.

That Lucas was ****e too.

I have no issue with the lad himself, he ****ed up and he knows it, Bygones. But he is nearly 28 and I doubt he will ever recapture his form. Someone younger for me.

I don't think he regrets leaving us in the slightest, it was Chelsea who ****ed up. But Torres isn't hating not being at Liverpool, he's just totally out of form. Can't see him getting any sort of form back, he's not even able to produce it at international level.

However, I'd still sign him for £20m so long as wheels were in motion for Carroll to go back to Newcastle for no less than £15m. That way we'd not lose out on the deal. Torres has only ever peaked at one club and I think he'd like to see If he could do it again

Squandered £300m gross on ****e signings like them. We only received twice the amount we paid for Torres when we sold him and three times what we paid for Alonso. That's the thing about Rafa; he never had an eye for young talent either.
