'I asked him if he wanted to take it because he won the penalty,' said Mata. 'He said: "I'm not the first on the list to shoot". It was because he forced the penalty and I gave him the chance.'

That's a terrible excuse from Torres. He doesn't even have a winning mentality.
Even Crouch had some balls when he took that penalty against Portsmouth. He still missed but kept plugging away.
How can a striker be scared to take a penalty? I just don't get it. Maybe in a cup final I can see a reason to duck the pressure. But to turn down the chance to score fro 12 yards when the game is already over. It's ludicrous.
I loved the bbc website last night - "the chelsea fans are chanting for Torres to take the penalty" 10 seconds later "so are the birmingham fans"
Hes ****ing terrible now
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Uh not even close, new coach, swing, life changing incident etc. What's Torres' excuse??
Tiger still has it - this yr he's had at least 2 top rounds out of 4 per tournament... Not long till he puts 4 solid rounds together, just like last sun
