I think he has one more season left before his legs start to go. I think he is adaptable enough to play on, but may struggle to keep a high press going for 90 minutes (although we dont seem to press as much).
Problem is, when he does go, how many players do you need to replace him with? He does a job on both fullback positions.
I cant think of too many midfielders as effective as Milner. He could get a ton of assists without ever having to be flashy, and can run all day, and obviously position and defend really well.
I do think we need to reinforce both fullbacks this summer. Assuming Clyne and Moreno leave, we have nobody else in the squad that plays there naturally... I dont think thats Gomez' best postion. Fabinho can also cover, although I feel he is too important as a defensive midfielder. Are there any kids we can promote? In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I think that Milner's role as utility man is going to be difficult to replace when the time comes, obviously most of his game time comes as a midfielder coming on for the last 30 mins or so as the experienced head, to be honest I am not so worried about that role, he will be around for a while and hopefully some of the other guys can take on that responsibility. The full back areas (or lack of cover there) are a massive issue, Milner is capable of getting up and down the pitch (at the moment) has good delivery and he is defensively solid, none of the other options we have there are capable of all that.
Gomez, Fabinho and Henderson can all fill in at RB but Gomez isn't a fullback, we don't want to lose Fabinho in midfield Henderson IMO is probably the best option to cover there but isn't ideal. LB Milner aside there is only Gomez who could possibly fill in in the senior squad, Adam Lewis in the youth side has been mentioned but who whether he is ready or not is a big question. Regardless of Milner's situation I think that we need to bring in LB cover this summer. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Miner is the fittest and often puts in the most km per game but he lacks the turn of pace to dart past a player, thats why when he fills in as full back we are limited in attack.Originally posted by Nicey View PostMillie is the fittest man in the squad and shows no signs of slowing down, perhaps not a 2 games of week player if you were being careful but he is rude health right nowremoving all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

fair enough but his game is not about pace and never has been, he is tenacious, he is smart and he is skillful ... there are shades of Carra about him, he almost lifts the players around him by just being on the field. I think we will continue to rotate and he is about as good a squad / 11 player you are going to find right now. He is literally is a managers dream playerAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I think his technique is very good. I dont think that he could adapt to so many positions if his skills were lacking. He is not flashy or flamboyant though. He can get the assist with a simple pass.Originally posted by Corndog View PostMilner is a far more technically gifted player than Carra ever was.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Well said. I agree, imo, he's technically very good, it's just that sometimes people might look at the industry he puts in or his physicality and think that's all he has. He's an all round brilliant professional but on top of an already very talented player.Originally posted by Charly View PostI think his technique is very good. I was not talking about his technical ability rather there ability to galvanise a team by sheer force of will, he has that, Carra had that and its an invaluable abilityOriginally posted by Corndog View PostMilner is a far more technically gifted player than Carra ever was.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt.
