maybe the striker we need are already here, we just need to be stronger in the midfield. and defence, and the goalie.Originally posted by Norbs View PostWe've really spread the goals out this season. We've shared the goals around but I guess that is largely because our forward line has been so unsettled, partly due to injury, also the fact that Milner takes penalties boasts that too (about 4 of his goals have been pens)Originally posted by Norbs View PostWe've really spread the goals out this season. Coutinho 10 goals from 30(4) games
Firmino 9 from 32(8)
Benteke 8 from 18(17)
Sturridge 8 from 13(4)
Origi 8 from 13(16)
Milner 7 from 37(2)
Lallana 5 from 31(10)
Combining the appearences of Sturridge, Origi and Benteke that equates to about one striker playing every game and getting ~24 goals. Sturridge and Origi have would have similar records if you project their goals per game onto an entire season. I think that if we can keep players fit, I think we have a decent goal threat, improve on Benteke and bring Ings back and we boost that somewhat.
We are lacking goals from CM, taking Milner's pens out he would have about 2 or 3 which is about the same as Henderson, Can and Allen all of whom have 2 goals each in all competitions. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The number of assists by Milner was one, for the last goalOriginally posted by Norbs View PostPardon?
Origi was assisted by Can, Sakho by Coutinho corner/Sturridge flick-on, Coutinho's goal I'm not sure, but it wasn't Milner, because he was deeper down, involved in earlier build-up. Much clearer?

The **** set pieces were all a cunning plan to lull them into a false sense of security from which we could punish them and win the game

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
