to be replaced by Henderson when fit.

With Klopp though it feels like a clean slate and there's no sentiment involved. Klopp will play him as he sees fit and, in this guise, I think he's a very good player to have.
I wasn't against him per se, thought he'd work out tbh. But you do feel that Rodgers wouldn't have brought him in with guarantees and a big salary if he wasn't English.

Milner might not be pulling up trees at the moment but he's working bloody hard and his crossing ability is way better than any other squad member.

Personally I couldn't give a fig who's wearing the armband, the successful teams always have more than one leader on the pitch; we've got the makings of this with Sakho, Lucas, Milner and Henderson potentially being on the pitch at the same time.
All those "leaders" yet none of them stand up and be counted when things have gone wrong. I think we really lack true leadership and have done since likes of Carragher & Mascherano left. Suarez was the last, Gerrard was never vocal but always went that extra yard in a crisis.

I think we lack a leader who will inspire either vocally or by performance when things aren't working out. We have also in the past lacked that player who will put their foot on the ball in a game where we need a bit of time, to either kill a game or just get a foothold back in it again.
        Forwards.......

I would prefer Millner being put to the side for Henderson. Far better pressing, work rate, passing, and more handsome.

I agree with everything you say.

Not sure where this "he's a good crosser of the ball" comes from - How many set pieces has he taken that haven't beaten the first man. Apart from one good cross for bentekes header against Southampton, I've seen nothing that remotely suggests he's a good crosser.
I make no apologies, this is me

Not really from set pieces. But from open play hes done some blinders.

He can put a good ball in every now and then, but then again he is a professional footballer.

Can't fault his effort but he lacks quality, he's still a very good squad player but under Brendan he was going to be our main CM after being given guarantees.

I respect him for leaving at his age to come to us because he was being offered big wages at City to sit round collecting medals. I just hope now with Klopp his role will change and he'll be level headed enough to accept it.

The guys average, a squad player at best. When everyone is fit his arse should be on the bench. Let him rotate with Henderson if need be but there just isn't enough room for the two of them in our starting eleven. Hendo is arguably the better player of the two anyway. I have never been a fan of Milner (jack of all trades, master of none) but one thing I didn't really notice until now is how bad his first touch is. My advice to our players is whenever they want to try their intricate one touch passes, don't involve Milner because he's almost guaranteed to feck it up.

swap Aly For Milly, and that would pretty much sum up watching his first half on Saturday

i think i agree. For me, Emre Can has loads of potential and it is great to see him being used as a centre midfielder now under Klopp.

But I think that Milner can bring a lot to the team - i think he is slightly more tactically aware than Emre Can and even for his crossing, corners etc then it will be worth having JM on the pitch. I think everyone has been impressed with how Clyne has integrated to the team - but for me, that has been helped by the fact that he generally has Milner on that side of the pitch helping / covering for him when he gets forward....... more so than Emre Can does for Moreno on the other side of the pitch.

In reality though, we will have loads of league, cup and european matches to play and hopefully that will continue to be the case deep into the season. So having midfielders such as Milner, Henderson, Emre Can, Lucas, Joe Allen....and even young guys like Brannagan and Rossiter - that makes us a strong squad..... which = happy days!!!

Quick question. With most of the players on there you've referred to them by their last name (Joe Pirlo aside). But when referrencing Can you always refer to him by his fuller name, Emre Can. Do you realise you're doing it? and if so why?
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Does Can have Emre Can on his shirt? Could be the reason

I fear that the people who were against the Milner signing were spot on. I really thought he'd be great for us but it's painful watching him constantly fall over, foul & lumber around. Really hope he improves but at the moment he is not justifying a position in the first team IMO.

Serious question though, why on earth does he keep falling over?
