It feels like when some of us (myself included) called for Bogdan to get picked ahead of Mig, purely on the assumption that ‘nobody could be worse’.

Milner and Moreno are both far from ideal, but if that’s our lot come tomorrow then I’d like to see Moreno play against the weaker teams that won’t put us under much pressure and Milner against stronger ones.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's not ideal and a bit baffling how we've ended up in a situation where a right footed winger/central mid has ended up as our first choice left back at 30 years old!

Ben Chilwell must be really, really special to apparently be the only left back on the planet suitable for us.
It's bizarre. Are Milner or Moreno anywhere near to being the best left backs we can find to play for LFC for reasonable money? Clearly not, so why have we got ourselves into this position? Generally I think we are a well run club but these glimpses of unprofessionalism appear too often. We're dealing with fine margins when trying to compete with clubs with more money than sense and going into the season without a half decent left back could be costly, and for no apparent reason.

He is so much better in other positions. He's done a decent job at left back for sure, but it seems unlikely that we couldn't find a better player for that spot freeing Milner to play where he is best.

It's no slight on Milner but we're doing things on the cheap and we'll get our rewards for doing so.

I honestly thought all this "we're not signing a left back" was some sort of tactic, a bit of brinkmanship or whatever. But it now seems clear we're not buying one. What the **** is going on?

I thought Milner was good on Saturday, but even so, I agree in that I expected someone to be coming in, whether it's a loan or permanent deal.

I think Klopp just really believes in the value of training, even though I'm not convinced about it with regard to Milner. If we'd brought a left back in, and he focused on Moreno on the training pitch, then fine.

Still time for a surprise, but not getting my hopes up.

Thought exactly the same, moreso when we sold Smith. Surely, surely we wouldnt have let him go without a replacement at least in mind? I just dont believe that the club think Milner is better than spending money, of which we seemingly have stacks of

Maybe Gomez is viewed as being the main competitor, do we know how far off he is? His imminent return is the only thing that makes sense. Nothing else does

Klopp did have a knack of successfully converting players to other positions at BVB.
It's part of what helped him remain competitive on a lesser budget than Bayern.

If he's really convinced that he can make Milner an effective LB then great, but I'd still rather see us bring in a proper LB, since we already have enough issues elsewhere in our defence.

Yep, it's daft. And as well as he played on the weekend it's already cost us points coz he's not a ****ing left back and lost himself for a moment! Really it should be one of the easiest positions to buy for, it's not like some midfield genius or a guy who'll score 30 a season, it's just a boring full back, a bit of energy, competent on the ball and reasonable defensively is fine! But evidently theres a huge, huge shortage!

So, Klopp out? Man obviously hasn't got a clue. Milner at LB, Sakho to go out on loan, Henderson captain and playing, Klavan bought, Wijnaldum, constantly sticking with Lallana....it's obvious Klopp is just a chancer, completely out of his depth.

Or maybe we should stop panicking/moaning, see what happens during the months leading up to the January window and re-evaluate then.
