Never looks to the ref for free kicks or a card, if he fouls someone he looks genuinely remorseful as a player. He just gets on with it.
Perhaps i didn't notice so much when he played for other teams.

But think it is a mix of the two that has made him great for us

Through the middle he often looked lost but once he had a white line to follow he did much better. A few times he played wide right and looked decent chucking in some epic crosses on the run. He also covered the left forward position and looked good too.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I agree. Probably rated between 5.5-6.5 most games whereas now it's more like 7-8 on average.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Well... he got more assists last season than anyone else in the team. He was quietly effective

My concern would be about how happy Milner is to play there, he might be playing well there but that doesn't mean that he likes it, he came to us because he wasn't getting game time at Man City and he wasn't playing in his favoured CM position, now he is a regular for us but still isn't playing his prefered position.

Now he is a good professional so you wouldn't expect him to come out moaning about it, look at the way he left city, he didn't come out moaning about the situation during the season, he kept his head down and did his best for the team. At the moment he is doing his best for the team at LB, but we don't know what his thoughts really are or priorities are if he still wants to play CM he would need to look at his options. As I say he is doing a great job but I guess what the agreement with Klopp was about him playing LB would need to be considered and whether he would want to continue playing there for 60 games or so should we qualify for Europe next season.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I dunno part of the problem at City was also the lack of game time at City with us he's playing every week and is an integral part of the side of which I'm sure Klopp has made pretty clear to him.

He seems like a team player and pretty happy with things at present.

I guess it's possible you can think about this too much when there's nothing else to do.
                  Oh I don't know.

Milner is very good but physically it's one of the toughest roles and as strong as he is something has to start giving.

Fine this year with a game a week but next year will be very different.
Are you saying Milner isn't fit enough to be our left back?

                      Why?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Because he's 31 in a few days and as fit as he looks now his body will start declining in the next couple of years. Especially trying to play 60 games a season as a fullback.

He's great but we need to be planning for the future.

Of course, we should always be planning for the future. In fact now is the perfect yime to buy an exciting up and commer... after all, Moreno is our only backup there. But at the same time, we have a bit of time not to have to blow money on a gamble, rather than identify the perfect solution.

I think we need to find a top quality goalie and a couple of reliable centrebacks as a priority, as I do think they could be the difference between first and second place in the Prem.

That Schalke left back could be an option, Sead Kolisic or something, his contract runs out in the summer.

                                looks solid.
