Remember Milan Jovanovic was on something like £120k p/w with us - his 'basic' wage being £60/65k per week and the rest being his signing on fee.

Could be, but City offered him 165k a week reportedly so it could just be the poor sods basic wage.

Yep this is exactly the problem - if Milner is the best player we sign this summer then......oh dear.

That's the only problem with this signing. He'll be our best midfielder, but overall our midfield will be average. Need some real quality in there.

I'd go with a diamond formation:

Lucas
Milner - Henderson
Coutinho

That's a strong midfield - with the potential to upgrade on Lucas this window.

We've then got Can, Markovic, Allen, Lallana, Ibe and Sterling (if he stays) to rotate into positions to cover injuries and in lesser games.

Tactics will be equally important but having Milner, Henderson and Coutinho pressing the opposition will worry plenty of teams.

Good signing and I'm all for it.... once we sign the right players along with the Milner signing.

He's functional & versatile & has a brilliant work rate but we do need some game changers along with this signing.
