Certainly his best position is high and wide, as he has no idea how to play the ball when deeper and central. Much like Henderson his body shape with respect to the ball is often wrong and so can't get it out of his feet and into space quick enough.

He has to be removed from corner taking duties, even he noted a few were wayward on Thursday and Klopp didn't like them either!

I think his strengths are in continuity play. He's a rare player capable of keeping the ball in the final third. He's not super incisive though so will only really create chances from crosses. I think wherever you play him he has to be enabling a larger plan - be that giving flexibility to a trio behind a main striker (where he can play any of the three positions) or deeper. There is no point in Milner in central midfield unless there is a dominant partner or pairing for him to support. We haven't had that for a while.

He'll be an important player for us next season, especially if we bring in a pacey winger as most expect us to.

Thought he'd be a great signing for us but have been dissapointed in him as a whole. Then again those are fairly impressive stats, so can't complain with his productivity. The difference between the quality of his set pieces & his crosses in from open play is just ridiculous.

Some time this century we will find someone who can actually take a decent corner & set piece.

Not a Klopp type player that expects high energy and a high work rate - Yaya is the polar opposite of that

Next time he plays play particular attention to him ... you will see these things... he gives the ball away... he hits the first man from corners .. he gives the ball away .. he hits the first man from corners

I know he does, we all saw the corners. Doesn't mean he's ****e. His numbers prove he's far from it. We haven't had a player capable of a corner for as long as I can remember. He gives the ball away because he tries risky passes, thats why he has a lot of assists. Rather that then play it safe and keep his passing stats high.

milner has many similarities with joe allen.
he has had plenty of ****e games for us, even made the dog**** list a few times, but just lately [klopp effect?] he has shown more consistent form and made better contributions. i have even had milner down for motm for a couple of games recently.

milner seems to struggle when played more centrally, almost like he is stuttering to do the right thing and then is left looking like a bellend giving the ball away of doing the sideways pass and run away thing [hiding in plain view/joe the crab allen] but play him down the sides and he knows he needs to get forward so he just gets on with it.

he seems like a decent soldier, but not much of a thinker. looks really good when running in the final third.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think Allen is a far more sophisticated player, when he is on, he runs games. Think hes been a little unfortunate what with Gerrard being undroppable ect and never really got an extended run in the team ... he has really found himself a lot more under Klopp ... utterly brillaint squad player ... were as I do not think Milner would be happy to sit an extended period out on the bench. I know James Milner has obvious class, I was very happy when we signed him, but for me personally more times than not he is one of the weakest players on the park, and yes whilst he does contribute to the teams success with a great run or brillaint pass ... equally many times he can be thye genius point of the teams failure ...losing the ball or giving it away when we are breaking and not set ... I like him, i would not shed a tear if we ejected him out the club this summer ... I think Klopp could sign a better starting CM ... that said it seems Klopp really likes him so hey ho ... but he needs to sort his ****ing Set peices out at the first least ... get the ****ing trainings buckets out ...or they only do that in fifa

Milner and Allen both fall into the same category for me, players that I'd like to keep next year as squad players but I don't see as being regulars, whether they would be happy with that kind of role is another question.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                        More dog ****.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
