yep I agree with that. I think he likes to get his foot around it. How far wide did he take the ball with his touch for the winning cross?

Maybe he should take corners like that, are you allowed to start your run from within the pitch? He put another peach of a cross in for Origi at the near post by almost running the ball out. Origi should have scored that or at least hit the keeper, Milner was well upset with the result.

He's still not 'talented' enough for a top team but by goodness am I realising how important his assists have been. For a guy with an average touch that lay on for Smicer Coutinho was delicious.

I wonder if Milner was asked to hit the near post? Obviously not the first man, but hear me out. For Sakho's goal, Lovren was facing his man and it was clearly a training ground routine. I can't put myself through watching Milner's corner kicks again to look at our movement, but was this a tactic that eventually succeeded on the 11th attempt?

The corner we scored from was the worst of all wasn't it? About knee high. If Sturridge hadn't tried to flick it on and missed it, I think it would have been cleared easily.

If that's a tactic on corners - then, its a strange one. But Im putting nothing past this team. Lull them into a false sense of security with 10 utterly ****e corners then surprise them with a daisy cutter

The cross for Lovren was ridiculously good, nearly ot of play, falling over, and he gets a great connection and flight on it, giving Lovren a near unmissable chance.

It was a very good cross but I think Lovren did well too.

He did, good leap and powerful header to top corner giving the keeper no chance.

But, put it this way - it would have been disappointing if he'd missed it!

Really is an excellent return from Milner, from a team that struggles for end prodeuc from midfield, especially as he's one of our 'biggest problems'.

yep they are all in the league

I really do not rate him, he has been complete dog**** this season, honestly everything his is on the ball bad things usually follow, he covers a lot of ground and there is something to be said for that .. but we could get a fee and improve on him no end ... he set pieces are the worst I have ever seen

We need more dog **** in the team.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Unfashionable player but seemingly his numbers are starting to add up. There are certainly upgrades on him out there but he's been useful enough this season

Exactly. You can definitely argue that he can be upgraded, but to claim he's been **** this year is a joke. Albeit it was two pens, it was his two decisive goals against Bordeaux and Augsburg that allowed us that great night on Thursday.

He can upgraded f you think of him in one position, but his versatility is hard to replace.

We definitely need a Yaya Toure type figure in the middle in my humble. But it's our supposed Captain that should step aside for him.We need a major upgrade on Henderson in the Summer. As you say, Milner is too useful and his level of commitment on the pitch is incredible.
